Fiorentina have concluded their second swoop on Sassuolo inside a week by adding Spanish Under-21 full-back Pol Lirola to their ranks.
La Viola, who last week announced the signing of Kevin-Prince Boateng from the Neroverdi, have added some much-needed competition at right-back with the signing of the 21-year-old.
The former Juventus player has been solid down the right-hand side for Sassuolo since his arrival at Mapei Stadium in 2016. He joins Fiorentina on a loan basis with an obligation to buy at the end of the season and will compete against Bruno Gaspar and Vincent Laurini for a problem position in Vincenzo Montella’s side.
The attacking threat that Fiorentina should carry down the right-hand side could be frightening with Italy international winger Federico Chiesa likely to play just in front of Lirola.
