Australia one-day captain Aaron Finch says he wants another chance to prove himself at Test level, despite previous poor performances. The 32-year-old, who is also the T20 skipper for his country, only made his Test debut in the series against Pakistan in September last year but failed to replicate the standards he has shown in the limited overs game.

In five Test matches, his batting average only stood at 27.80 and his attacking style of play was ultimately exposed in the red ball format of the game. Earlier in the year, he appeared to shun any future hope of returning to the Test fold but now says he is willing to have another go and would love to be in contention for future games.
“For me personally, it’s about probably having one really good crack at trying to get back to the Test team again,” Finch told SEN radio station. “The young guys who came in and did well throughout the back half of last summer did a really good job. I still think that I’ve got one really good crack at it left in me.”
