The Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing financial debt, posing a threat to miss the FIBA 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers.
The team is expected to face Croatia in their Group E away match scheduled for November 21 and play host to them on November 21.

Currently, Bosnia and Herzegovina is second in Group E with a 1-1 record.
Piqued by the financial debt, Dzevdo Alihodzic, the federation’s general secretary, as cited by Sport Klub, during a press conference said the debt is endangering the national team’s activities.
“With blocked accounts, we can’t do that. I have to be honest: if we don’t solve it, it will be a question of whether we will play,” Alihodzic stressed.
“It’s a serious problem, and we cannot currently prepare for these games.”
Alihodzic disclosed debt that was accrued unpaid money to the Hotel Ilidza group that has been unresolved for 13 years.
“We owe them around 330,000 Bosnian marks [about 168,000 euros],” he said. “We’ve tried to negotiate a settlement or a payment plan, but the hotel group insists on immediate full payment.
“We do not have these funds available, nor do we know when we will have them,” the executive added.
“We had a series of meetings. We recognized that debt, and we tried to explain the situation and the solution. Legally, I can’t say anything for them; they want it that way, and we have to accept it as a fact.”
