Golden Eaglets midfielder Ibrahim Said has been shortlisted for the goal of the tournament award at the just concluded 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, Completesports.com reports.
Said’s second goal in the Golden Eaglets’ 3-2 win against Ecuador in their second Group B game is among the 10 goals shortlisted by FIFA.
The Dabo Babes Academy star scored Nigeria’s second goal with a superb curling effort from the edge of the area.
Also nominated are; Brazil’s Gabriel Veron who won the most valuable player prize of the cz ompetition, Goden Boot winner Sontje Hansen from Netherlands, France’s Nathaniel Mbuku and Diego Duarte.
Others are; Diego (Brazil) Matias Godoy (Argentina), Degnand Gnonto, Gaetano Oristanio (both Italy) and Santiago Munoz (Mexico).
Voting will end next week Monday and winner will be announced same day by FIFA.
