Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has slammed the Red Devils’ disappointing display against Liverpool in Sunday’s Premier League game.
Recall that the team was massacred’ at Anfield as they lost 7-0 to Liverpool.
Liverpool thrashed Man United at home, thanks to goals from Roberto Frimino, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, and Mohamed Salah.
But Ferdinand wants Erik ten Hag’s side to get back to work as soon as possible ahead of their next Premier League tie with Southampton next weekend after the heavy defeat at Liverpool.
“We have been pulverised,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.
“That was a massacre. An absolute massacre at Anfield. That is all you can call it. The players will be feeling embarrassed.”
He added: “Ten Hag, man… If I was him, the team would know I would be upset, but one of the main points would be, don’t let this derail your season now.
“You come back tomorrow, you get back to work, you look at what went wrong and then you go to Southampton at Old Trafford.”

Football is a funny old game. Win a trophy last week, get crushed 7-0 this week.
The only positive I can see for United is that Liverpool were unable to score up to ten, as that would have been quite embarrassing, considering the Man United manager’s name is Ten.
TEN FOR TEN would have been the trending hashtag in football for the next few weeks.
Gut wrenching result for United fans. To be on the wrong end of a 7-0 hammering is a calamitous result, but experiencing it at the hands of their fiercest rivals Liverpool? Utterly disastrous.
A humiliating reality check for the proud Mancunians. They have to dust themselves off and move on.
Thumbs up brotherman Pompei. This result was just a one-off. Manchester United will bounce back stronger.
