Roger Federer will continue playing into 2020 at least as he has signed up to defend his Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships title.
Federer claimed his 100th ATP Tour title by seeing off Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Dubai final on Sunday. The Swiss star has had to face questions over retirement at regular intervals over the last few years and at 37 he accepts he is in the twilight of his career.

It looks as if the 20-time Grand Slam winner won’t be announcing his retirement in 2019 however, as it appears as if he has signed up to compete in Dubai again next year.
“We congratulate Roger Federer on his fantastic achievement in winning 100 titles, and winning here in Dubai for the eighth time, more than any other player,” said executive vice-chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free Colm McLoughlin.
“It is remarkable that his first title here came as long ago as 2003, and we look forward to welcoming both Federer and our ladies champion Belinda Bencic again in 2020.”
