Out-of-favour captain Ralf Fahrmann has been told by coach Domenico Tedesco that he will feature in Schalke’s next three fixtures.
The 30-year-old former Germany Under-21 international goalkeeper has made almost 230 appearances for Schalke since returning to the club from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2011.

Fahrmann was the regular number one until this season as Tedesco has preferred to play Alex Nubel of late.
Fahrmann is believed to be frustrated at losing his place in the side but will get an opportunity to prove his worth after Nubel was sent off in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach.
Nubel faces a two-match Bundesliga ban and Tedesco has revealed Fahrmann will step in to fill the gap and also feature in Wednesday’s DFB-Pokal clash with Fortuna Dusseldorf.
“Ralf Fahrmann will play tomorrow. I’m sticking to my word here – doing something different would be unfair. He will be in goal in our next two Bundesliga matches as well – that makes sense,” Tedesco said at a press conference.
However, it seems Fahrmann will drop back to the bench again when Nubel returns from his suspension. “We opted for this keeper switch a few weeks ago and that was a huge challenge for everyone involved. This is part of the maturing process that Alex Nubel will go through,” Tedesco added.
