“I am still hopeful that the Super Eagles can win the 2023 AFCON if the right approach are done by the team, the technical crew and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
“The Super Eagles must ensure they prioritize lifting the trophy because that is the only thing that can make Nigerians happy.
“Achieving all these will also require that the team prepare early enough and play grade A friendly games with other Africa countries. They must approach all the games with a sense of seriousness and determination.”
All group winners and runners-up and the four highest-ranked third-placed teams qualify for the knockout stage.
Twenty-four teams will be taking part in the delayed competition billed for January 13 and February 11, 2024. The tournament was supposed to hold this year but moved following the 2022 World Cup which was held in December.
