Former Nigerian forward, Jonathan Akpoborie believes Super eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has what it takes to fill into the shoes of late Rashidi Yekini in the senior national.
Akpoborie stated this on the backdrop of Osimhen’s impressive goal scoring form Napoli in the Serie A this ongoing season.
Recall that the Nigerian international netted the winning goal in the team’s 1-0 win over Torino 1-0 on Sunday.
It was also Osimhen’s fifth goal in seven games played in the league and eighth in nine appearances in all competitions.
However, in an interview with Completesports.com, the former Wolsburg said that he’s optimistic Osimhen will be Super Eagles next goal machine.

“I am very impressed with the performance of Victor Osimhen with Napoli this season. I think he has learnt a lot from the mistakes of last season and showing a different Osimhen this season.
“he definitely has what it takes to be Super Eagles next goal machine like late Rashidi Yekini. He has displayed that in the national team colours against the Central Africa Republic in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and I believe he will maintain the form.”

Thank you our respected Akpoborie, in fairness to late gangling Rasheed Yekini, Osimhen is far better than any No9 Nigeria has ever produced. Osimhen is in the league of the Nymars of this World, for a fact.
His Jersey color, so good.
WHY OSIMHEN NOT ONUACHU ???
CONTRIBUTION ON PLATFORM SHOULD ANALYSIZE THIS FOR GERNOT ROHR
Mate osimhen is a far better sticker than onachu the truth of the matter is if onachu is good he get he recognition
Onachu yet is a good sticker that scores goals but he is in a small league and with Lower defender
It took osimhen 1 season to get comfortable and that’s because of injury
Osimhen is one of the best strikers in the world right now
Who is been compared with lukuku because of his potential osimhen is very good and he is more superior to onachu
YEKINI STILL REMAINS THE BEST STRIKER NIGERIA HAS EVER PRODUCED AND I BASE THIS ON THE NUMBER OF GOALS SCORED FOR CLUB AND COUNTRY, INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE AWARDS WON AND YEARS OF SERVICE.
VICTOR OSIMHEN CERTAINLY HAS WHAT IT TAKES TO MATCH AND POSSIBLY EXCEED YEKINIS’S RECORD BUT FOR NOW HE ISN’T THERE YET.
Please, you are shouting.
Osimhen is well on his way by the scoring potential and just overall no.9 persona is honestly better and than yekini
The goal and record will come for osimhen the truth is osimhen is better and that’s facts
Take it or leave it
That means it’s not possible to change SE jersey colors after all. Keep doing the catch up from behind. Don’t even know how you want to compare an old era to the more technically advanced kind of new play. Osimhen is only 22, Rashid was close to 40 when he played.
Who is that fool mentioning Onuachu there. Are they mate? Osimhen can only be compared to World best not one fluke who keeps running around the pitch when invited to play for his so-called country.
