Former Nigerian midfielder, Henry Nwosu says becoming champions of Africa won’t come on a platter of gold for the Super Eagles if they are to win the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 1980 AFCON winning player stated this in a chat with Completesports.com, where he said that with the caliber of players in the team, Nigeria should be able to win the trophy.
“The idea that we should avoid some of the toughest teams in our group for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations draws should be ignored because for you to be champions you must be ready to beat the best teams in Africa. Facing Senegal, Ghana, Egypt, Ivory Coast or Algeria should not create fears in our minds because we have a very good team at the moment.

“With the caliber of players we have in the Super Eagles I see no reason why the team can’t be champions in Cameroon. I believe so much in this team because we have quality players to deliver the job for Nigeria.”
The three-time African champions are expected to know their group opponents for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in August.
Recall that the Super Eagles won the third-place match after defeating Tunisia 1-0 in the 2019 AFCON.

Henry! no doubt in term of quality calibre of players but the organization like of senegal ,tunisia algeria ,cape verde etc is more than to win we keep on forgeting the other aspect of football ,tecnicality on and off field.
Coach is wack we can’t win even bronze again, coz the old man is on decline.
Shut up you bloody sycophant. You manage to escape from your crack jungle today and post trash as usual. Son of a kangaroo.
The truth is bitter and always hard to listen to but I have no choice, I have to say it the way it is.
I am not sorry to say this, not that we don’t have the players to win Nigeria the Afcon trophy but we don’t have a team yet and the coaches that can beat the likes of Algeria, Senegal Morocco, South Africa and even Sierra Leone and Madagascar.
Oga Rohr Super Eagles that were struggling against an average Cameroon?
If NFF like, they should bring Saka, Ali, Alaba and all the best players in the world into the Super Eagles, as long as Oga Rohr in charge of the team, Super Eagles can never win a tea cup.
You may be wondering why I said so but go back and watch the last Afcon and world cup then you will agree with me that Oga have failed and he is tired like president Buhari.
We had all our best players for those tournaments but he failed woefully to improve and impressed Nigerians.
Amaju Pinnick is a smart man. He knew that Oga Rohr will failed to beat Mexico and Nigerians will ask NFF to fire him before the Afcon tournament in Cameroon.
He decided to manipulates things again and he succeeded because people around him are clueless and not bold enough to talk to his face.
I don’t expect anything from Oga Rohr and NFF president.
I am shifting my attention to the Super Falcons because our female team always give their best when representing Nigeria but our male team, the boys are very good but unfortunately the coaches are not the best for them.
By now, we should be talking about how Super Eagles will win the Afcon trophy. I don’t think Oga Rohr and his troops ready for the challenges ahead of them.
If you think you have any excuse to say
to cover up Oga Rohr inability to win against the top opponents, think about the new coach of the Super Falcons first before you talk.
NFF and Oga Rohr have nothing to do with Super Eagles. They should all go together and leave us alone period. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Omo9ja you alwsys say anything just to castigate rohr. You said we failed to beat and average Cameroon but you didn’t talk about the average team we used. Must you just say anything in order to rubbish someone.
Before 2913 nations cup, some journalists and Nigerians vowed with their blood that we will not go past the group stage.
Common, super eagles is winning the next nations cup… Look out for that.
