Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph believes the absence of Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen was behind Napoli-s 4-0 loss to AC Milan in Sunday’s Serie A game.
Recall that the Nigerian international was ruled out of the game due to injury.
According to Football Italia, Osimhen has indicated that he would be available for Napoli’s Champions League clash against Milan next week.
However, in a chat with Completesports.com, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist stated that the absence of Osimhen affected Napoli’s attack against AC Milan.
Dosu noted that the Serie A top scorer would have been a nightmare for the Milan’s defender if he was fit for the encounter.
“It’s so unfortunate that Napoli lost 4-0 to AC Milan in the absence of Osimhen. No doubt, Osimhen would have given AC Milan a serious headache he was on the field of play.
“However, my biggest worry now, how will Napoli cope if Osimhen decide to leave the club this summer? They may struggle for goals.”

It’s not completely true
Dosu is right to some extent because osimhen might have affected the scoreline but he might not have affected the final outcome……With Osimhen on the pitch he creates a presence in the opponents area giving them something to think about thereby reducing their attacking play…… Osimhen defends well too with his pace in times of counter attacks and his height in times of defending set pieces…… Definitely osimhen would have made a difference.
