Former Nigerian international, Alloy Agu says he’s optimistic Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen will be crowned Africa Footballer of the Year.
Recall that the 24-year-old, who led Napoli to its first Serie A title in 33 years, scored 28 goals in all competitions last season, including 22 for Napoli in Serie A.
The Nigerian international has also been nominated for the Ballon d’Or and Best FIFA Men’s Player Award.
In a chat with Completesports.com, Agu stated Osimhen’s performance last season is enough to give him an edge over other players.
“I think Osimhen has done so well for himself, for Nigeria and for the whole of Africa. Osimhen has been very much up doing and it’s a plus for us.
“He has also done well in Europe. Looking at his performance for last season till date, Osimhen has earn himself the place for the award.
“For me, I think he’s fully right to win the African Footballer of the Year Award. No other African players have achieved what Osimhen achieved last season.”

I concur totally with Alloy Ahu. Osimhen was simply in imperious form last season and posting some amazing numbers. There is clearly no contest or competition for the Prestigious African footballer pf the year gong.
