Former Nigerian international Alloy Agu believes Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has what it takes to attain Vincent Enyeama’s height in the senior national team.
Recall that Nwabali has etched his name into Nigerian history after keeping four consecutive clean sheets at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Nwabali’s record-breaking run surpasses the previous Nigerian mark of three straight clean sheets held by Alloy Agu and equals Best Ogedegbe’s 44-year-old record.
Although the Super Eagles lost the final 2-1 to host Ivory Coast, however, the Chippa United goalkeeper was outstanding at the tournament.
Despite numerous notable goalkeepers in the past, Nwabali’s assurance, authority, class, and confidence between the posts have resonated with fans, echoing the qualities that endeared Enyeama to the hearts of Nigerian football enthusiasts.

Speaking with Completesports.com, Agu stated that Nwabali has built a reputation for himself in the Super Eagles.
“Honestly speaking to you, there is a lot of work for him to do. And there is still room for improvement for him. When you look at Enyeama, you will understand that he has done so well for the Super Eagles. The records are there for us to see.
“Nwabali has also done well, and when you begin to compare him with Vincent Enyeama, then you have to look at the time, the game, and the competition. Notwithstanding, Nwabali has done well for himself and his country, the same with Enyeama.
“He has what it takes to reach that same level as Enyeama if he continues to maintain a high level of concentration on his game. Nwabali has shown lots of confidence in goal, and I admire his ability to communicate with the defence. Not to forget also that he has made some brilliant saves for the Super Eagles and kept some clean sheets as well.
“With what I have seen so far, Nwabali is not doing badly to fit into Enyeama’s shoes, and I think it’s just a matter of time.”
Enyeama’s crowning glory arrived in 2013 when he played an instrumental role in Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations victory, earning a place in the Team of the Tournament.

Nwabali is the best, forget the rest. We only need him in the SE, no need for basket cases like Okoye and uzoxo.
The has a lot to do with crosses. He needs real home schooling.

Name do not play football. Senegal beat star studded France in 2002 WC. Be it foreign or local coach, if you as a player do not bring your “A” game. You go chop bench o.. Nwabali committed howler in the game against Benin, an opportunity for Okoye to reclaim the no 1 position but he conspired against himself to allow an easy ball to pass through his leg.
Hehehehe….ball pass through Okoye’s legs…? In which match…?
It’s like Nwabali’s howler has started creating multiple optical illusions in the mind of many people. Go rewatch the highlights on HD frame by frame.
MEANWHILE, haters are here hating on Okoye, news reports just popping out has it that…..
“…Nigeria international MADUKA OKOYE has been ranked as the TOP GOALKEEPER in the whole of the Italian Serie A in two categories, allnigeriasoccer reports.
According to stats from Sofascore, Okoye has made the MOST SAVES from inside the box in the current season. With 30 saves to his name, the Super Eagles star ranked higher than Parma’s Zion Suzuki (29), Torino’s Vanja Milinković-Savić (28), Monza’s Stefano Turati (25), and Lecce’s Wladimiro Falcone (25).
When it comes to the difference between EXPECTED GOALS AND GOALS ACTUALLY CONCEEDED, Okoye outperforms other Serie A goalkeepers….”
RAW FACTS AND FIGURES NEVER LIE…..!!!
PR jobbers can continue jobbing.
Power will change hands soon and those who know this job will do the needful.
Okoye wey Inter Milan done drop application for.
The only reason Okoye is not in Inter Milan is because he chose not to be on the bench.
Okoye to Inter is virtually a done deal next season or next.
