Alhassan Yusuf has declared he will be fit for the Super Eagles clash against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.
The Royal Antwerp player was replaced by Joe Aribo in the 68th minute of Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinean on Sunday after sustaining an injury.
Yusuf trained separately from his teammates at the Ecole Nationale de la Police on Monday.
The 23-year-old undergone scan to determine the extent of the injury on Tuesday (today).
”I’m not going to train fully today, but I should be back in full training tomorrow,” he told Completesports.com at the team’s Pullman Hotel base in Abidjan.
“I’m getting better and should be available for the game against Cote d’Ivoire.”
The Super Eagles will face the Elephants at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Thursday.

Pls heal quickly my boy,u are one of many good players that useless paseiro have denied an opportunity to show what they can do.but Ur time has come and no one can stop it
Yusuf is good on a norms even more than ndidi but all this tribal bigots like ugo will be overhyping ndidi over yusuf all because the former is from their region and the latter from the north…
Every player is unique and do have what they bring to the team. Ndidi is at a higher level when it comes to midfield play. Have you watch any of his match this season aside from tackles, assist he also scores. Yusuf is good alright box to box player but he needs to learn alot from Ndidi too. Let’s keep encouraging our own. What I’m not happy about is the coach couldn’t bring another mieldfielder like Nwakali. Mieldfield is the heart of football. Once ur minefield is doing bad u will most likely struggle in the match.
This Yusuf is a average players. Aribo and Onyeka will do a better thing in midfield.
Ok. Now I’m waiting for Ebubedike and Arara Kumbie to voice their opinion.
Yusuf brought a different quality to that team. He’s the most energetic, the most robust, the most rugged in that team. He covers a lot of ground, not afraid to go into tackle and ready to challenge any opponent wiling to take him for a ride. He’s very mobile, good on the ball and possesses the ability to provide a good range of passes. He’s not a finished product by a mile, but if you check his stat in the last match, Aribo hasn’t come close in his 5 years of playing for the team.
Onyeka is a good marker, the most skiful of the three,
but he doesn’t have the strength of Yusuf. His decision making can be poor at times, and he lacks the tenacity Yusuf has.
If I’ll compare Yusuf with any player in that team, it will be with Ndidi. I can bodly say that Ndidi is clearly ahead in terms of experience and versatility but Yusuf’s strength and vision make him an ideal substitute of the Liecester guy.
Take it easy Yusuf, dnt rush it, with or without you, the team shd be able to get at worst a draw, and you should be fully back and running for the last group game. Speed recovery son.
Calm down@Monkey brain. Yusuf is still an up coming talent not yet in the level of Ndidi. Do you know how many successful seasons Ndidi has played in the English Premier league with top ratings in tackles and interceptions???
I admire the zest and vigor of Alhasan Yusuf but will not support an unhealthy premature and irrational comparison with already established professionals in the the game of soccer!
I will pair Ndidi with Yusuf in the midfield and we are solid and good to go.
Talking about SE midfield legends and Stars; you know,
Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh, John Mikel Obi, Samuel Okwaraji, Iwobi Alex, Nwakali Kelechi, Onyedika, Onyeka, Mba Sunday, et al. Others making waves…. Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, et cetera. The list goes on….
See, truth be told, whom God has blessed, no man can curse! Whether you like am or not (QED).
Greatness and Ingenuity dey their DNA!
Yusuf case have shown that pesiro is either corrupt or he is not in charge of players selection
