President Federation Cup 2024 champions and newly promoted club to the Nigeria Premier Football League, El-Kanemi Warriors, have chosen to play their CAF Confederation Cup matches at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Completesports.com can exclusively report.
A chieftain of the club from the troubled North East of Nigeria disclosed the management of settled for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja after considering other options closer to Maiduguri. They thought about playing in Gombe, Bauchi, and Jos but settled for Abuja.
“From the onset, we already knew that our El-Kanemi Stadium in Maiduguri would not meet CAF standards, so we quickly made checks on nearby stadia in the North East and North Central and decided that the Moshood Abiola National Stadium would be suitable for us, subject to approval by CAF and the federal government,” an impeccable source disclosed to Completesports.com.

“We also feared that the stadia in Gombe, Bauchi, and Jos might need some facelift before the inspection team’s arrival. Since the facelift is out of our hands, we had to go for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja as our home for the CAF Confederation Cup.”
He said that El-Kanemi Warriors are preparing very well for the CAF Confederation Cup, adding that the management has reinforced the team with new players and that government has assured of total support.
“We are not just going to play and be knocked out easily. We want to make our mark in the competition,” the source stated.
