Former Nigerian international, Nduka Ugbade has disclosed that the duo of Victor Boniface and Gift Orban won’t pose a big threat to Victor Osimhen’s position in the Super Eagles.
Recall that Boniface and Orban have earned their first national team call-ups on the back of impressive performances at club level this ongoing season.
While Orban has netted two goals in four appearances for Gent in the Belgium League, Boniface has scored four goals in three appearances in the Bundesliga.
With Osimhen regarded as Nigeria’s undisputed top striker, however, the invitation of Boniface and Orban is believed to give the Napoli striker a run for his money.
Reacting on this development, Ugbade in a chat with Completesports.com on Monday, stated that Osimhen is completely ahead of them in the pecking order.
“I personally don’t think so because everyone of them will have their part in the game against Sao Tome. Osimhen is world apart. He’s completely ahead of them regardless of how Boniface and Orban are painting Europe with goals.
“Even Awoniyi is also in the frame and can be consider to be ahead of them because he has also been scoring goals for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
“The truth is that, everyone of them have been invited to contribute their quotas to the progress of the Super Eagles. In terms of experience, Osimhen, Awoniyi and even Kelechi Iheanacho have it because they have been at the World Cup.
“But Boniface and Orban’s invitation is a good one because ‘God forbid’ if injury comes or lack of performance for the other players, these players can fill the void and make the Super Eagles stronger.”

Orban is a threat to anyone wearing 10 shirt.. the team is gradually getting the weak leg out ..
Orban is a threat to our no 10 shirt.. so the team is getting stronger now
If you like cry over it, burnaboy and gift orban are treaths to osihmen in the supereagles and there is nothing wrong with that, as good as thiery henry, treziguet was treath to him, cisse and many more, being a threath doesnt meen you are better, it means someone else is getting closer.
The 5 strikers invited are the best we have in the country, i am proud of them, i think pesero likes to have two men for all positions as his invitations showcased,
Aina/ebuehi, you guys should forget osayi samuel, he is not taking space here, not in this afcon,
Tunarigha/ekong, i think awaziem have the chance to chase out ekong in that contest, becos of his ability to play rightback,
When needed, he will push ekong out and tunarigha will keep his spot, please those people with eyes problem should stop mentioning apkoguma here,
Ajayi/bassey. Bassey may lost out here aswell, his chances is good becos he can compete for left back, but in the middle, omeruo or adarabioyo if he shows up can push bassey away, but ajayi will keep his spot,
Bruno/collins. Its the chance for both of them to impress pesero, becos pesero already have bassey and sanusi in that position, any one who performs real strong performance will take bassey spot if bassey couldnt stamp the center back position, sanusi will surely keep a spot here, and if both fails, trust pesero will not take chances, i think bruno have Edge over collins offensively and defensively otherwise.
Nigeria have renoun reputation for defence, i am not too worried who ever go i go with him.
We have four midfielders,
Ndidi,onyeka,onyedika aribo.
Ndidi and onyeka will keep their spots, but aribo and rafael will have to do alot to keep place, i also believe pesero will drop one position elsewhere to make it five midfielders,
The transfer market didnt help the inclusion of the youth players, Nnadi move to bulgeria will do him no favor in getting call up, ďaga too young to get a professional contract, eletu is too shot for our level, akansimiro is still learning, forunsho is not sure to play for eagles.
So for now we only have nwakali, alhassan, contending, they can displace rafael and aribo which i doubt, etebo have three months to play him self back to afcon. If i am pesero i will pick 5 nigeria midfielders without looking back(iwobi, onyeka ,ndidi, alhassan, tosin kehinde) another good player is nwobodo,.
Kehinde is the one man that can give iwobi a real run in that AM position. I wonder you people dont like to talk about tosin kehinde a Manchester united acadamia who has been begging for chance and he is better than all those monkey faces coming out from jimmyballs corner, you fans are witchcraft to kehinde and God will prove me right on this boys case when he get chances, nobody talks about this young alreadymade jayjay.
Chukueze/iheanacho, pesero have discovered the right sub for chuks in iheanacho in that right wing i dont see it changing,
Simon/lookman, simon will stay, lookman will have to work hard to keep a place, pesero will like to switch orban for the Challenge and tella will also come contending, akpom and isaac which doesnt have Chance in the main 9 will also die for that left wing position, lookman may lose out.
Attackers
Osihmen boniface awo orban.
Surely this position will reduce to three in afcon proper, pesero will pick three to creat space for midfielders, osihmen will stay for sure, the battle is betwin the remaining three Orban, Awo, the four will likely boniface, the four may likely go to the afcon, if orban takes a winger position or midfield spot.
We are getting closer to the afcon glory.
I dont like our goalkeepers, though i am not too good with rating keepers but these keepers are not champions my three first choice goal keepers,
Based on na men we need there(osigwe, ajiboye, akpeyi, and bendel insurance goal keeper i cant recall his name) these guys are better than these three up there.
Chuba Akpom will play attacking midfield same as Iwobi. We should never forget that Akpom made name before Iwobi at Arsenal and he has lost of goals in him. Toochukwu Nnadi is with Lokomotive Moscow or so… He was signed for 3m Euros as we heard after world cup. Frank Onyeka can’t give us what we want… he is a static DM and not creative, he is good in his own right but I will prefer Alhassan Yusuf who is more mobile to Frank Onyeka… let’s forget that he plays in EPL, dude isn’t special.
Thumbs up Jimmyman.
U nailed it.
