Former Nigerian international, Alloy Agu has faulted Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho for misjudging Saudi Arabia’s corner kick that led to their opening goal in Friday’s international friendly game.
Recall that the Green Falcons had taken the lead in the hour-mark after Uzoho mishandled a corner kick, flicking the ball into his own net.
Nigeria leveled parity through Abdulelah Al-Amri’s own goal, before Kelechi Iheanacho gave them the lead with a finish from just inside the box.
However, Saudi Arabia grabbed a late equalizer in the game in the 100th minute of the encounter, with Mohammaed Kanno smashing home a free-kick.

Reacting to the result, Agu in a chat with Completesports.com blamed Uzoho for misjudging the ball on air but was quick to laud the general performance of the team.
“I think Uzoho misjudged the ball that led to Saudi Arabia’s opening goal but then, I think he still performed very well.
“The team generally did a good job considering the fact that the game is meant to build the team. Every player gave a good account of themselves knowing fully well that Saudi Arabia is not a pushover team. So for me, it’s a good preparation game.”
Nigeria will now play Mozambique in another friendly match on Monday as the team prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

All these guys in goal keeping department can’t take us to promise land. Uzoho and okoye and co.
These are worst keeper, not having play time in their club.
Pesiro keep like this won’t take beyond second in major competition because they will concede in away that will be to costly for knockout stages.
Carl ikeme didn’t need to spend 5yrs that uzoho had spend with eagles likewise he didn’t spend almost 4yrs that okoye had spent with eagles.
These guys can’t take us to anywhere.
Forget anytangile achievement with any of these guys in our goal area
IZOHO BE IS ALWAYS COMPLACENT WHEN HE NOTICE THAT THERE IS NO STRONG RIVAL AT HIS BACK.
BECAUSE OF HIS ERROR COMMITTED AGAINST SEYCHELLES IN DELTA STATE, THAT IS THE REASON WHY FORMER COACH,GERNOT ROHR WAS ANNOYED TO WENT AHEAD TO BRING MADUKA OKOYE FROM 4th DIVISION GERMAN LEAGUE TO CONFINE AKPEI TO BENCH IN ORDER TO DESCIPLINE HIM.
PASEIRO NEED TO BE DESCIPLINE PLAYERS FOR UNSERIOUS DISPLAY. JUST LIKE THE WAY GERNOT ROHR USED IZOHO TO PUNISH AKPEI IN 2018 WORLD CUP (because of error AKPEI committed against Argentina friendly).
I can’t read other people’s comments again. What’s going on here
Great keepers make fewer mistakes But ALL keepers make mistakes Therefore, apportioning blame is silly Alloy Agu should know better
It’s sad that a big football nation Nigeria is still not able to assemble good goalkeepers since after Ikeme
We have watched Uzoho, Okoye break our hearts in major competition, we have seen them commit basic blunders yet they keep smuggling their names in the invited players.
Our past goalkeeper trainers were not bold to stand up for our better home based players right from the days of Genrjot Rhor.
Adeleye and any good home based keepers will be preferred to these bench warmers predently in the camp.
Now that Uzoho had proven to be consistent howler, can we now look elsewhere?
We have good goal keepers in Nigeria street. Just that if you don’t know anybody in NFF they not invite you. You must know somebody in NFF or bribe a coach that will bring you to FA officials. Those guys in Nff chose who plays not the coaches
If Pasiro choose Uzoho as the number one goal keeper for Super Eagles at the Nations Cup next year, that means we are just going there to make numbers!
Even the second goal was his fault.
