Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Alloy Agu has warned the Golden Eaglets to keep things tight at the back ahead of their clash with Burkina Faso in the ongoing 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that Nigeria will face Burkina Faso in the quarter finals of the tournament on Thursday.
Nigeria made it to this stage after beating South Africa in their last group B game while Burkina Faso defeated Cameroon 2-1 on Sunday.
However, in a chat with Completesports.com, Agu stated that he’s optimistic the team can overcome Burkina Faso in the knockout stages.
He also warned the team to tighten up their defence and avoid conceding goals if they are to book a World Cup berth.
“I am impressed with the general performance of the team considering the fact that have made it to the quarter finals of the competition.
“But then, I am sad with the fact that they have conceded too many goals in the group stages and must tighten up their defence when they face Burkina Faso.
“Notwithstanding, I am optimistic Nigeria will fly over Burkina Faso.”

If they cañ avoid concerning early goals but rather score an early goal instead, the world will see the real beauty of these lads.
Noted that they have been coming from behind too often this put pressure on themselves by trying to equalise, this no doubt exposed the faultline at the back cos every one always want to score.
Have the handlers observed that opponent are trying to avoid our set pieces around the box, Ugbade may do well by deploying a “dirty” tactical to force opponent to commit foul in and around the box Michael to deliver the blow.
Ugbade should work on Linus to properly deliver his long range shots where the impact will be felt, I think the principle or the idea is very good.
God bless Nigeria.
I agreed with Alloy Agu ’cause it was through the carelessness of the Cameroonian backline the Bokinabe kids scored the 2goals. The Golden Eaglets must be told and be conscious of this and they will run over their for and get the final ticket proper.
