Former England manager Fabio Capello has reacted to Victor Osimhen’s nomination for the 2023 Men’s Ballon d’Or and The Best FIFA awards.
Osimhen is among the four Africans nominated for the Ballon d’Or by the organisers, French Football Magazine.
The 24-year-old also made the shortlist for the The Best FIFA award.
Capello insisted that the Nigeria international deserved his nomination for both awards.

“I would have been surprised if he hadn’t been included in the international awards (Balon d’Or and FIFA Best),” Capello told Napoli Magazine.
“Osimhen, for me, is among the top three centre-forwards. Napoli are right to keep them close.”
The forward played a key role in Napoli’s Scudetto success last season.
He scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances.

Osimhen should get this title no question asked, but will they do the right thing? Unarguably the most lethal striker of our time.
To score 26 in 32 league games is not a mean feat, especially in the Italian league.
