Spartak Moscow attacker Quincy Promes has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment after stabbing his cousin in the knee.
He bagged the jail term after he was found guilty of assault by a Dutch court.
The 31-year-old was involved in an altercation in 2020 during which he stabbed his cousin in the knee.
He was never charged with attempted murder or manslaughter.
Prosecutors in the Netherlands believe there is sufficient evidence against Promes to warrant a jail sentence, despite the fact that he has consistently denied the allegations.

According to Goal, the 50-cap international attacker was not present when the verdict was handed out in his home nation. It is unknown if he will ever travel back home.
Promes is currently living in Russia due to a contract he has with Spartak Moscow.
After hearing from two eyewitnesses and discovery from chats on his phone, he was given a jail term.
Promes, who previously played for Ajax and Sevilla has also been forced to pay his victim €7,000 in restitution.
The court ruled that had Promes attended the court proceeding in question and displayed any regret, his sentence would have been less severe.
Promes retains the right to appeal the verdict. And he will also eventually go on trial for alleged drug trafficking charges.
In the just concluded season, the forward scored 25 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions for Spartak Moscow. He helped the team to a third place finish in the Russian Premier League behind Zenit St. Petersburg and CSKA Moscow.
