A number of Everton fans have praised Alex Iwobi following his impressive performance in their 4-2 win against Brighton and Hove Albion in Saturday’s Premier League, Completesports.com reports.
The Toffees returned to the top of the Premier League table with a fourth victory from four league games, after the win against Brighton.

Iwobi who has not had much game time this term and previously came in for criticism from some fans, proved his critics wrong on Saturday.
The 24-year-old was impressive in the League Cup win over Fleetwood, claiming a goal and an assist, and was given the chance to impress after replacing the injured Richarlison.
Iwobi seized the opportunity particularly in the second half, and was a constant thorn in Brighton’s side and a creative outlet for Carlo Ancelotti side.
His standout moments on the day were the assist for Everton’s third goal, delivering a great ball to the back post for James Rodriguez to finish, and his role in the build-up for the Toffees’ fourth.
And following his impressive display, some of the Meyserside club fan took to their Twitter handles to react.
Adam (@adxm1878) wrote on his handle: “What a dink by Iwobi BTW.”
County Road Bobblers (@CBobblers1878) stated:”Doucoure and Yerry Mina fantastic today. Pleasure to watch James Rodriguez so wish we were in the ground. Tom Davies very effective to, good on him. Iwobi very intelligent in that final third and played well. Tricky with injuries but we done the business.”
According to Alan Gibbons (@alan_gibbons):”Mina & Iwobi worth mentions today….Iwobi took time but came in to the game well. Mina was superb imo.”
In his reaction Gaz (@KinseyEFC) pointed out: “The pass into Doucoure from Iwobi for the 4th was something else!”
And In other reactions to Iwobi’s brilliant performance, THE TOFFEE MEN (@thetoffeementv): “I thought Iwobi played well today, shows we have a bit of depth in our squad.”
AyAyKay (@25Axel25):”Iwobi with an AMAZING pass to Doucouré. What a game for him.”
Darren (@Darren1878nsno):”Moan about Alex iwobi all you want that’s 2 time today we have scored because of moments of brilliance from him.”
Angry Allan (@AngryAllan6:”Gotta be Mina or James for MOTM. Coleman done great whilst he was on and Iwobi’s had his best game here.”

Wow! Iwobi was really in his element in this game, coming on to give two key passes, one which turned out to be an assist. This is how we expect him to play week in and out. Always making an impact, always leaving his mark, always having the fans and coach saying good things about you.
Im really happy for him. I hope he keeps this up and add more goals and more assists to his game.
Iwobi was the brain behind goals number 3 & 4 for Everton. Rodriguez only had to tap in. Those defence-splitting passes were simply genius.
Iwobi’s is sometimes underrated cos of few moments of inconsistency and have received sticks from fans, but his enormous potentials have never been in doubt. He’s often a big match changer and decider for both club and country. But what I love most about the young man is his cool head and level-headedness. He hardly lets criticism get to him. He just tries to respond in his next match.
I’m happy he’s finally coming into his own under a truly world class coach and playing alongside elite players like Richarlison, Rodriguez and Carl-Lewin. He’s certainly in a better environment to develop his game than Arsenal. His transfer last season is finally paying off. And I think that after this match and the Fleetwood game last week, he’ll definitely rank higher in Ancelloti’s pecking order.
That iwobi’s pass to docoure that led to the fourth goal gave me goosebumps. It was a pre assist but I rank it higher than his assist.I have not seen a pass of such quality in a long time.WELLDONE IWOBI
Iwobi the wingback?
Iwobi was also astute defensively in the encounter. Whenever Everton were defending, Iwobi dropped deep into a wing-back role for them to have 5 at the back. Iwobi made 2 clearances, 2 tackles and 4 interceptions to help keep Brighton at bay.
Some of his thrilling tackles were made in the heart of his box 18 in a manner worthy of a competent centre back. Iwobi exuded a fine form of dynamism and guile when required.
A rewarding afternoon to remember for the former Arsenal man whose all round play would endear him to Everton fans if he reprises such a performance more consistently.
Please someone close to nff president should help tell him that rohr was a defender and as such he should need someone like Amunike who was more of a striker and more experienced than their Yobo who is was also a defender in his active days and less experienced. Let us just imagine what rohr and Amunike will bring to the table.
@Elijah Samson
useless talk.
E be like say them send u o!…
You want to join the band wagon in criticising a foreigner abi?
When SUPER EAGLES was languishing in 70th position in the world and 16th position in africa and even called “SUPER CHICKENS” by many, where were u?
Why didn’t you ask the NFF to bring your world best strikers to come and coach us?
Or is it that your “african quadiolas” was not playing attacking footbal in their playing days?
Why didn’t they use their experience & take us to the current position we are now?
I rather play defensively & be among the elite national teams in the world than play USELESS attacking football and be rated as an under dog.
Abeg leave us the way we are… We like it like that.
DEFENSIVE PEOPLE
If you are not satisfy with what is going on now you can stop watching super eagles games and wait till after 2022 when your world best and over experience strikers that never won a golden shoe in europe or in the top leagues they play takes over….
