Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has described the performance of Joe Aribo and his teammates as exceptional, following their shock win at Dortmund in the Europa League round of 16 first leg fixture.
The Scottish champions take a two-goal lead into next Thursday’s knockout play-off second leg after recording a 4-2 win at a stunned Signal Iduna Park.
Aribo marked his impressive performance with an assist, setting up Alfredo Morelos to make it 2-0.

Also in action for Rangers was Calvin Bassey who continued in central defence following the absence of Leon Balogun.
And reacting to the big win Van Bronckhorst however cautioned his players that the tie is not yet over.
“It is a great night, but only a great night,” the Dutchman said post-match.
“We are not through to the next round, which is what we want. We know we have to have a good performance next week as well.
“We wanted to take a result back with us to Glasgow. I think we achieved that with a two-goal difference.
“There are a lot of positives to take from this game. I thought the boys were exceptional. Every man, even the substitutes who came on, everyone did a fantastic job. But like I say, it is only halfway.”

See Calvin Bassey standing like the rock of ages in the heart of Rangers central defence last night right there at the Signal Induna against BORUSSIA DORTMUND of Germany, in his 11th European club competition game.
Yet some Agents of backwardness want us to roll out the drums and believe Olisa Ndah should be higher in the pecking order of SE defenders for playing against a nameless club like js souara of God knows where…..LMAOOoooo.
I hope Tunisia Asst Coach Bilal Kadri’s nine pupils in the NFF technical department and SE technical crew are taking notes. Because the next thing we will hear from them as excuse is that they have not been following Calvin Bassey….LMAOooo…the same way the havent been following Cyriel Dessers and Kevin Akpoguma……LMAOooooo.
Bassey is better than Sanusi and Collins. I still don’t know how they got in.
@Dr.Drey… Was it just yesterday Calvin Bassey came to the fore? Rohr had the chance to play him when the dude was invited but what did Rohr do? He sat the boy on the bench for 90minutes. So please help us address that Rohr ball-dropping gaffe first before you sling the new technical crew! Why did Rohr who according to you is the best thing to happen to Nigeria football lately not play Calvin Bassey when he had the chance? Ndah was not in the picture when Rohr had the chance to play the boy… so you can see now that after all the Rohr hallelujah praise… the grandpa still remained the commander-in-chief in questionable invitations and lack of truth in playing talents…
Hahahahahaha….they have started chewing the cud…..LMAOOoo. And who did Rohr call up/start ahead of Bassey……Olisah Ndah right….LMAOoooo.
In central defence, We had Ekong, Balogun, Awaziem, Akpoguma, Omeruo. At Left Back, we had Zaidu, Collins, Aina……not some home based or South African league players…..so Bassey sitting on the bench for those guys for 90 minutes in crucial world cup qualifiers on his 1st call up was never a gaffe. Bassey was even listed in the provisional 40 man list submitted to CAF for the AFCON. So he was still fully a part of the team.
But when we had Awaziem, Balogun, Collins out, who did your Bilal kadri’s pupils smuggle into the team ahead of Bassey and Akpoguma…??? LMAOOoooo. An injured south african league trialist who wasnt even provisionally listed in the first instance and had never even been called up to the team before….LMAOooo
So you knew Bassey has been in the fore before rolling your drums to celebrate your Ndah as the next best Nigerian CB after Leon Balogun…even listing him 10 places above Troost Ekong in your contorted pecking order…..LMAOoooo. Even Eguavoen dared not start Ndah at AFCON ahead of Troost…..LMAOOoooo
You are indeed right, Ndah was not in the picture when Bassey got his 1st SE invite in October 2021, because he was busy pulling down opposing strikers and conceding penalty kicks in the South African league (as he always did in the U23 and CHAN teams), videos of which I have shared here severally…..LMAOOooo
And as a matter of fact, Ndah is never supposed to be in the picture in this current SE set up if not for crooks who want to “sell market”. The likes of Bassey (Rangers), Apkoguma (Hoffenheim), Izuchukwu (Hapoel Hadera) and Junior Pius (St Truiden) are way ahead of him if we dont have crooked compromised people angling for quick cash handling the team. Even Valentine Ozonwarfor of Sporting Chaleroi is way ahead of him for those who have any truth in them.
The irony of it all is that in 4-5 years time, Bassey and Akpoguma will most likely still be waxing stronger, making one upward career move after the other while the “market” they took to Egypt to sell would have faded into oblivion…..LMAOooo…case scenarios abound.
It is still on record the THE BEST Nigerian players available got to play for the SE during the era of grandpa Rohr. That’s a fact nobody can distort.
Imagine someone wanted us to jubilate because Olisa Ndah played against JS souara when we have people shutting down the likes of Borussia Dortmund…..LMAOOooo….Tufiakwa.
@Dr.Drey… Do you watch Bundesliga at all? When was the last time Akpoguma kicked a ball in an active match? Ndah will get to a better team soon… That guy has too much talent and will become a backdone in Eagles defence shortly. That’s a top quality player.
Hehehehe….I should be the one asking you if you watch the Bundesliga at all…..LMAOooo. Because if you really do, you wouldn’t be here rating Ndah above Akpoguma, nor rating the South African league higher than the Bundesliga, nor the CAF champions league higher than the Europa league.
So Akpoguma was not active when Ndah was smuggled into our 28man FINAL Afcon squad with a knee injury ahead of Kevin and Calvin who were on the 40 man provisional list…??? The same Akpoguma who had played all but 2 games (due to COVID) till 18th of December 2021.
This year Akpoguma has only missed the last 3 games in the Bundesliga due the thigh injury he sustained against Union Berlin.
Ndah may be a “top quality” player to you, but the fact remains that we have BETTER QUALITY players than him in that position, some who even play multiple positions, and we saw it last night when Rangers hammered Dortmund in Germany with Bassey in the heart of their defence.
Ndah should go to “a better team soon” since according to you, he’s got too much talent, too much that nobody else has. Meanwhile we already have people in “better teams” already who should be in the SE ahead of him if the national team is not turned into a market place.
Nor be only backbone, na biscuit bone….LMAOooo.
Someone here claimed that Aribo was overrated after the defeat by Tunisia. How bereft some people are in CSN is alarming and sickening. Anyway, na democracy we dey – freedom of speech.
Well-done Aribo de-Ariball, talented footballer
Well done Aribo.
Always proud of you.
And Mind you CSN you Amateurs Cavin Bassey See’s more Minutes than Balogun of late!!!
Bassey must be in the line up for Ghana …I nor wan hear pim!!…abi dem nor dey see? Wetin Ndah dey do there sef when you have a caliber player like Bassey? I beg invite him and the ndah …I guess you will not be disappointed. . Bassey ‘Nkpom the rock’…
The boy is quick Solid and a ROCK indeed, Oh boy he was playing like Kalidou Koulibaly yesterday Seriously NO CAP!!
You are right. Ndah – Bassey will be better than Ekong – Balogun in the heart of Nigeria’s defence. Ndah remains far better than Bassey.
You can’t keep Ekong down for Ndah in the heart defense. Guy are you for real?
Am not saying Ekong is indispensable, but let’s make sure we see someone better than him before we think of benching him
What makes Ndah better than Ekong?. Bro, stop sniffing shit. Abokis and soak away highness is killing this country.
