Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi featured for FC Porto who lost 1-0 at home to Olympique Lyon, in their Europa League round of 16 first leg tie.
Sanusi saw action for 90 minutes in the game which was Porto’s first loss since December 2021.
After a goalless first half, Lyon broke the deadlock in the 59th minute through Lucas Paqueta.
And in the other Europa League round of 16 fixture, Eintracht Frankfurt pipped Real Betis 2-1 in Spain.
Filip Kostic gave Frankfurt the lead on 14 minutes but Nabil Fekir equalized for Betis on the half hour mark.
But just two minutes after Fekir’s goal Daichi Kamada put Frankfurt back in front which proved to be the winning goal.
The Europa League round of 16 first leg will continue on Thursday with Rangers, parading Joe Aribo, Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey, hosting Crvena Zvezda, Barcelona welcome Galatasaray, Leverkusen visit Atalanta and Sevilla facing West Ham.
