Europa League: Osimhen Bags Assist In Galatasaray Win Over PAOK FC

Europa League: Osimhen Bags Assist In Galatasaray Win Over PAOK FC

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen made an impressive display as he bagged a brace in Galatasaray’s 3-1 win over PAOK FC in Wednesday’s Europa League.

Galatasaray needed less than 20 seconds to trouble their new Greek neighbours, as Napoli loanee Victor Osimhen headed inches over the crossbar.

The host needed almost no time at all after the restart to begin their celebrations, as Osimhen’s header towards goal was inadvertently redirected past Kotarski by a distraught Baba Rahman.

Barış Alper Yılmaz then planted a header straight at PAOK’s number one as the game surpassed the hour-mark, but it was not the Croatian keeper who was picking the ball out the back of the net after 67 minutes.

Atoning for his miss, Konstantelias was in the right place to equalize after Jonny’s cross-shot had kindly rebounded into his path via Güvenç’s glove.

Nonetheless, the hosts needed nine minutes to restore their lead as Osimhen’s second-headed assist of the evening allowed Yunus Akgün to fiercely fire the ball beyond Kotarski.

You’re not making any sense because this dude is gradually loosing value should he continue misfiring sitters. Maybe you’re watching only highlights that is why you keep writing nonsense. It took Icardi only a few touches to conjure a chance and score a goal in fewer mins on the pitch compared to our Rashidi who is looking for sympathy of fans to synchronise even without goals. If you like sharp your long mouth whenever the truth is told but it won’t change anything.

I genuinely don’t understand how some people analyze and assess players these days. It seems like many just type without putting proper thought into whether what they’re saying even makes sense. Let’s look at the facts: before Osimhen arrived, Besiktas defeated this same Galatasaray team just a few weeks ago with Icardi and Batshuayi, scoring 5 unanswered goals. They were also eliminated by Young Boys in the Champions League qualifying stage.

Now, Osimhen comes in, things improve, and yet people are still complaining. It’s frustrating to see such a lack of appreciation for the quality we have, especially from fellow Nigerians. What a world of discontentment.

Either you guys like it or not, Osimehn has improved this team tremendously. If he were in the team against young boys, they wound have been playing in champions league by now and would have defeated Basiktas. You think those managing football in Turkey are fool to include him in team of the week!

        • Chima E Samuels 14 hours ago

Shut your mouth another falacy again. Fact that Gala lost to Bek makes you say another nonsense like your ogogoro mentor. Go and check and see that Galatasaray not only dominated Turkish league last season along fenerbache but they ended the league with over 100 points. So what nonsense are you spilling by saying Osimhen is the reason they are flying high. A lot of you speak out of emotions instead of realism.

I don’t believe anyone love Osimhen more than his wife that’s if he’s married but I know he’s a father. So if anyone speaks the truth here due to realism the person must be heard and not be criticised to rub your rubbish ego. Fast forward from last year to today Osimhen is no longer in the mix of Balloond’OR players and some people are still here fooling around with various nonsense parameters thinking Osimhen will read CSN and dash them money as best fans. Make una park well jare soso rubbish ITk full country nowadays.

            Useless fool….LMAOoo

Dumb idiot. Why didn’t Galatasaray use their 100 points from last season to defeat Besiktas and young boys of switzerland this season….LMAOoo.

Why did their last season’s dominance not prevent them from being humiliated this season.

I have always known you are daft…I only didn’t know you were actually an imbecile from the onset. It’s like you brain hasn’t told you last seasons form, goals and points hail ended with last season….and that we are in a new season where Osimhen is proving to be a kept factor….so much that even when mourinho was losing 2-0 at home in thebfiercest derby in Turkey, he was afraid of pouring men forward because of he didnt want to leave more space for Osimhen wreck his defence the more.

The Compound fool that you are claims a player who didnt have preseason but has contributed 4 goals in 3 games is losing value….but like your fellow street dog that claims no big club wants osimhen, new reports keep rubbing your big lips like that of a pigs shout in the dust by informing us that about from Chelsea, another big club Juventus is now hot on the heels of osimhen.

For your information I’m not a fool like you who doesn’t get his facts right before coming to the public to open his gutters….I watch all Galatasaray’s matches (as a matter of fact I’ve been sharing the TV stations that beam them live here, since your fellow dog claimed no TV stations does so) and I have seen what was supposed to be 2 Osimhen GOALS awarded as assists.

And doorgghhh…we don’t care if Osimhen records 36 assists at the end of this season, as long as they are all his efforts which were ALREADY GOAL-BOUND, we will remain satisfied with him and keep praising him….LMAOoo.

Osimhen had every opportunity to score the 2nd assist by himself….but he chose to head it to a better placed player to riffle into the net. I know an illiterate like you does not know that that’s something that endears strikers to the heart to top coaches in Modern football.

Yes…Mauro Icardi came on an scored….only that your common sense didn’t tell you that he was able to do so when Osimhen had already destroyed PAOK despite their low block and man marking and had poured their men forward in search of a late equaliver.

If only you had a functional brain, you would know that Icardi did not join Galatasary 10 days ago after not having any preseason at all and that there’s the place of him understanding his teammates and his teammates understanding him.

Once again 4 goal contributions in 3 games…N1.2bn in the bank.
When you are big you are big…..when you are blessed you are blessed.

Born losers will continue to be a losers….!!!

At least everyone here is a witness as to how your lines of thought has been dragging Nigerian football backwards for years now….LMAOoo

Assist master. Anyway assist is almost as good as goal. Congrat boy.

  • Ayphillydegreat 19 hours ago

He needs to get back to his devastating finishing form. He’s been missing a lot of chances in recent times dating back to the AFCON. He needs to work more on his composure.

I believe that might be because of no preseason at the moment. However, I’m expecting goals galore from him in Turkey this season otherwise he will be considered a one or two season wonder by international pundits.

Our African Footballer of the Year must paint Turkey red with goals. IJAYA Oluṣosun.

    • MONKEY POST 16 hours ago

@Ayphillydegreat why the hate on this young Billionaire na? As long as he makes billions from just a game we are okay…we don’t need him to be scoring… Besides he is giving us assist Every game…

  • Onwajunior 18 hours ago

Get back to scoring ways. Samu has been the rave of the moment in Portugal, scoring for Porto in almost every game including today’s game. Icardi scored today…hmmm…lets hope he doesn’t take Osimhen’s spot.

    • MONKEY POST 17 hours ago

Hehehehehe…@onwajunior osimehn is not a striker..he is a midfielder.. we don’t need him to be scoring… please let’s cut him some slack cos our expectations on this boy is too much…

    • From a sure-banker scoring position deep inside the 18 yard box in their last league match, Osimhen elected to chest across for his colleague to blast home.

Again yesterday, right side deep inside the 18 yard box, instead of heading at goal, Osimhen voted to head across for his colleague to ram home and restore the lead for Galastasaray.

Osimhen has been hugely impactful with his assists.

But, you don’t buy Erling Haaland and Harry Kane for mainly assists, you buy them and pay their humongous wages to bulge the back of the net and do so ever so regularly. He did score yesterday though but it was harshly credited as an own goal due to a mild deflection.

So, whatever Osimhen’s strategy is, it better starts yielding goals for him soon enough or else the knives will be out from his critics and those people who are NOT exactly his well-wishers.

      Good luck to him!

    • John-1 4 hours ago

Icardi can’t take Osimhen’s spot because he’s HIGHLY useless without tap-in goals. Osimhen offers more offensively and defensively than Icardi who sits in the box and wait for tap-ins. No sensible coach will bench a mobile-Osimhen over robotic-Icardi. If Galatasaray can go far in Europa league, Osimhen is the type of player who can play a major role to such project.

  • MONKEY POST 17 hours ago

Lmao.. A whole 300 minutes of game time still played no goal?!

Lmao…Omo even a crippled Nikolas Jackson would have had like 3 goals and 2 assist in all of those game time at least in a tolotolo weak ass league like this ..

    Lmao…..

  • Has anyone seen Osihmen’s games in full since moving to Turkey? If so, I think they will come to the conclusion – like I have done – that he is currently testing the waters, feeling the boundaries and laying the groundwork for his future explosion in front of goal.

I was shocked in the last 2 matches to see Osihmen pass up goal scoring opportunities in favor of laying it on a plate for his team mates to gobble up, score and take the glory instead of him; but I suspect there is a method to this madness.

Yes, in fairness, I also saw him miss a few guilt edge chances.

However in Yoruba, they say ‘if you pour a bucket of water down in front of you, you will inevitably step on wet grounds’. Osihmen is showing his fellow strikers that he is not proud or arrogant and he doesn’t mind sacrificing the spotlight if it means the team wins via his assists. His “assists” will pave the way for his own bucket of goals to pour down in due course.

For the chances he missed, at least he is getting in titillating positions, he just needs to rediscover his finishing instincts – which will come with time and also willingness of his team mates to feed him (the same team mates he has now been feeding game after game).

But in truth, it will always be headline grabbing whenever strikers of Osihmen’s timber and calibre experience goal droughts.

After-all this is the same league that Paul Onuachu painted green-white-green with goals last season by hitting the ground running and never looking back until he reached the finish line in the goals chart.

But, if you think the dynamics in Trabzonspor is the same as the dynamics in Galastasaray, then you need your head examined.

I can assured you that Osihmen would have kissed the back of the net for Trabzonspor by now because he would be a a very big fish in that small pond with players worshiping him and willing to pass to him at every turn .

But in Galastasaray, the politics is stacked against him will all the big egos of their star players. And by humbling himself to provide assists match after match, I think Osihmen is playing this politics very well.

So, he will start to deliver the goods soon; just have a little patient, pilgrims!

    • @deo If a Modern striker cannot put the ball in the onion bag every other game in Todays football that is seen as average, 3 assists is a deflect from the current situation at hand Osimhen is not scoring and is making funny runs and his football IQ is quite low, If a Midfielder is in attack mode why is Osimhen running towards the Midfielder and not Towards the Oppenents Goals or making direct Runs he will start running to the Wing stopping the Wingers route to goal and makin the play weak, because he himself is not where his is supposed to be. He is playing with Zero Confidence and that is a stark contrast of what someone who took a whole Chelsea to the cleaners because of Weekly Wage should be playing at. at the Moment he is not even worth 10k a week on what he is playing.

@deo Goals Goals Goals, Testing the Waters there is no time for that in his Level he should Put the damn ball in the net or sadly make way for Icardi who ironically scored immediately he was introduced. That is not good for Osimhen. If he wants a move out of Turkey he better well start scoring otherwise he will Rot in that Turkish League and there will be no way out.

Real men no dey caprison excuse anyhow..they take responsibility…

  • Martins Abayomi 14 hours ago

He is not doing badly at all, I am just worried about the team that lack good quality players but he will definitely start scoring because he is an hard working player. Try and watch full match and not highlight on YouTube before coming here to argue.

  • Unfortunately if he does not score next game his value will start to drop and there will be wide whispers of him being average, people don’t realise that infact, Nigerians don’t realize that Haaland has raised the bar so high and plays with so much confidence, The days of Strikers not being able to score at will is long gone because of Haaland and Kane’s current form. If a Modern striker cannot put the ball on the onion bag every other game in Todays football that is seen as average, 3 assists is a deflect from the current situation at hand Osimhen is not scoring and is making funny runs and his football IQ is quite low, If a Midfielder is in attack mode why is Osimhen running towards the Midfielder and not Towards the Oppenents Goals or making direct Runs he will start running to the Wing stopping the Wingers route to goal and makin the play weak, because he himself is not where his is supposed to be. I mean if he cannot score in Turkish League or against PAOK in Europa League then this is a cause for Concern. These Nigerian Players instead of spending time after Training to Improve their Craft they will rush to their Phones and start doing content creating that is why European players always surpass them. Osimhen Pull your socks up don’t be fooled by Nigerians Hyping this assist because in your Position YOU ARE JUDGED BY GOALS NOT ASSIST!

  • Let us allow this boy to breath abeg, he is just recovering from emotional traumal he went tru at naple. He did not even involve in a pre season with gala club.

Please give this guy a brake. In world of football today assist is like a goal. Any player that can be providing that weekend in week out can never be benched lialai.
His goal will come sure, you guys are the one under pressure not oshimen. You guys are the one who is not happy with his performance not Galatasaray.

Dem don dey follow us watch tolotolo Turkish league and tolotolo Europa league ó.

Who cares if Osimhen registers 36 assists this season….as long as all 36 of them are already goal bound before they were touched.

The whole world is watching. They are not blind.

Opting to pass to teammates who are in a better position than being selfish is the hallmark of Osimhen’s greatness.

Osimhen’s presence in Galatasaray has suddenly turned them to a team no body wants to attack…..not even mourinho at 2 goals down in his own backyard in a fierce derby.

After just 2 matches with “no goals” club officials are already spoiling for war against any team that wants to snap VO9 up in Janaury….LMAOoo

They are talking, while the boy is earning……in billions….LMAOoo

Osi-goal…..keep on enjoying your fitness training in Turkey biko. You’ll need it when one of the BIG CLUBS salivating over you eventually get you.

In the words of José Mourinho “…If I have 75m, I will buy him…”

  • Papafem 10 hours ago

It’s surprising to see the harsh criticism aimed at Osimhen. The guy just joined Galatasaray without a proper preseason, after going through a tough period at Napoli. You can’t expect him to immediately hit top form like he’s some kind of machine. Comparing him to Omorodion? Really? That’s just unfair. Some fans seem impossible to please, always demanding instant results. We need to cut Osimhen some slack. In the last two games, I’ve seen a determined player, hungry to regain his top form. Even Galatasaray fans aren’t piling on him like this. He’s still working his way back, and he’ll definitely get there. Let’s stop putting unnecessary pressure on him—it’s not right.

    • Dr.Drey 9 hours ago

Papafem….you think common sense is common…?

Let them continue comparing Omorodion who finished the last season as fit as a fiddle and played throughout the summer for Spain at the olympics with Osimhen.

And it’s not even like the boy is idling on the pitch ó. 2 of his so-called assists in those 3 games were actually clearly headed for the net even without any further touch. But no….talk is cheap….LMAOoo….infact, very cheap. It doesn’t cost N1.2bn to talk….LMAOoo

Osimhen is the one responsible for their impotence both upstairs and downstairs….LMAOoo

4 GCs in 3 games already and the boy hasn’t even started yet. He’s still in preseason as we speak.

Let people who wanna talk continue to talk. By the end of the season they should check their coffers if their futile efforts have raked in over N13bn…LMAOoo

  • I wonder what these so-called fans that ‘mean well’ would say when Osimhen starts scoring.

I guess we wouldn’t have to wait for long to get their response to his goals, the weekend is upon us.

    • Chima E Samuels 9 hours ago

I think you’re getting something wrong here. I am not against Osimhen neither am I taunting him. I’m just shutting the idiot who’s hyping someone that has works to do in his conversion rate. I am not interested in how much earn he earns of where he plays.

      • Dr.Drey 9 hours ago

Hahahaha……did anyone mention your dirty name….LMAOoo

Who asked you for confessions or explanation….LMAOoo

The imbecile’s belly is burning with acid already without even mentioning his shame of a name.

Go and drink poison because a player who isn’t matchfit yet is being hyped for contributing 5 goals in 5 matches for both club and country.

You will tell us if it’s your wretched father’s name anybody hyped…LMAOoo.

Useless illiterate fool is talking about conversion rate will ignoring match fitness rate….LMAOoo.

I can’t imagine how daft a human being can be.

Why not wait till his match fitness in 100% before opening your smelly gutters.

      • come on.

I do agree Osimhen still needs to work on some part of his game but come on, his conversion rate is top notch. He just needs to be more flexible and calmer with his finishing. But the stats don’t lie about his conversion rate. It is very good.
He just played 2 games for Nigeria and scored 1. Boniface played the same number with even more minutes yet scored none.
Haaland played the same number of games for Norway with much more time. And score just one as well.

We should give Osimhen some slack. He DOESN’T deserve the criticism and unnecessary pressure. He has always performed. and He will keep performing. That’s what he oes.

        • Chima E Samuels 8 hours ago

Osimhen missed out of Afcon trophy and missed begging chances at afcon. Osimhen has been missing chances upon chances and you people are still here praising him because he will retain his salary. I am not interested in money I just need this dude to score goals, as for the one who thinks I hate him or against him that’s his own world of thought. I hold Osimhen in a goodwill and only throw words of truth to him when and at areas he should perfect and work on. Only an alien will mistake my realistic view as hayter and be self deceiving themselves as fellow fans. Lol who fans pay before? “cheap mentality behaviour”.

Osimhen was missing changes at AFCON …? The same osimhen that practically sacrificed himself for your sorry asses at the same AFCON….? The same osimhen that won 2 penalties for fools like you, harried and hassled Cameroon into making mistakes, created chances directly and indirectly for lookman and others to score and had 3 of his own goals questionably chalked off at the same tournament…?

If osimhen were to be a selfish brat like folks like you, and had luck from refereeing, he would have ended afcon with at least 6 goals — he would have taken the 2 penalties he won, scored the one he gave to lookman vs Cameroon and retained at least 2 of the 3 of his goals that was questionably ruled out.

            Realistic views my foot….LMAOoo

You had to go all the way to AFCON to find when Osimhen didn’t score enough goals to please you because your brain was in ICU when he came off the bench to help as sink Benin republic at a time it was begining to look like Benin was about to equalize…..LMAOoo

See shameless hater trying to save face. LMAOoo. You have been after osimhen’s life since he refused to apologize to lowlives like you who have problems with where, how and with whom he spends his holidays.

And you didn’t waste anytime to belittle him for “not scoring” 2 goals in 3 matches he has played fò Galatasaray sọ far….LMAOoo

The world will be a better place without wellwishers of your type….LMAOoo

            Ndi devilish wellwishers.

          • So, you really think we would have gotten to the AFCON Final without Osimhen?

The same Afcon Mane, Salah, Kudus underperformed!

I assure you, if Osimhen was around during the world cup qualifiers, Finidi would still be in charge of the Super Eagles.

Give him some slack, he has earned it.

          • Chima E Samuels 7 hours ago

          Ndi devilish wellwishers.

  • Why all this intense pressure on Osimhen? If his coach and teammates spoke to him like some of us are doing here, wouldn’t it demoralize the young man? Is football no longer a team sport?

How many games has he played that he should be shipping in goals already? How many newly signed strikers hit the ground running in the first match? Do some of us want him to start playing selfishly and try to score when another striker is in a better scoring position? So he can “upgrade” from assists to scorer?

There’s a thin line between criticism and bad belle. Abeg, temper your criticisms. It’s too early to start hauling pressure on the young man’s shoulder.

@Kel I can speak for myself I’m not criticising him but neither does it make sense to be singing praise that he made an assist when we should be reminding him to push after dropping off Balloond’OR top 30. If he had won Afcon or scored vital goals before the match against Benin maybe it will help his quest and also our quest. But nobody his reminding him anything about improvement but rather reminding him that he is making billions. Poverty is a sickness that is why someone will be all about money and forgets about other vital aspect of life.

See who wants to advise osimhen….LMAOoo

This illiterate that celebrated getting an entry visa into he US to the highest heaven and has never stopped bragging about it is the one that wants to advise osimhen….LMAOoo

Please channel your filthy pieces of advise to yourself to push to top 30 in your village and leave Osimhen alone.

You neither own nor know enough of anything in this life to be in the position to advise the Osimhen.

Focus on your ouw miserable attention seeking life.
