Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp says that his team had a well deserved victory over LASK in the Europa League on Thursday, September 21 at the Raffeisen Arena.
Australian winger Florian Flecker gave LASK a shock lead over Liverpool with a goal in the 14th minute.
Flecker’s strike was the only goal scored in the first half as the Reds went into the break 1-0 down.
However the Reds came fighting back in the second half with goals from Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and legendary Egyptian winger Mohammed Salah putting Liverpool 3-1 up.
Speaking in the post match conference, Klopp said he knew it would be a difficult game.

“So obviously LASK had one shot on target in the first half and it was after a set piece,” liverpoolfc.com quoted Klopp as saying
“We showed two football situations from the first half where we did really well. I’m pretty sure the boys would have thought there was nothing good in the first half, but that’s not true, we had good moments and that’s what we showed and besides that I told them we had to get rid of the frustration and getting back into the game again and we have a good chance to turn it around.
“And that’s what we did. And I’m really happy because I knew it would be difficult, it was difficult. We won it, well deserved, that’s it.”
LASK have never won the Europa League trophy.
Liverpool have won the Europa Cup thrice (1972/73, 1975/76 and 2000/01).
They currently sit in third place on the Premier League table with 13 points from five games
