Hoffenheim defender Kevin Akpoguma is fired up for tonight’s UEFA Europa League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Village club will welcome the Premier club to the PreZero Arena for a matchday seven encounter.
Akpoguma said it is important for Hoffenheim to claim maximum points from the game.
“We are really looking forward to the game. There is a lot at stake, we have to try everything to make the game a success. And regardless of the league table situation, we can show that we are a good team, the Nigeria international was quoted by the club’s official website.
“The victory in Kiel brought positive energy to the team. We want to take that with us now. I am really looking forward to the game and see it as a big challenge. But it is not a bonus game for us, rather a very important game for which we have big plans.”

Christian Illzer’s side ended their 11-game winless run courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Holstein Kel last weekend.
Akpoguma said the win will boost their confidence going into clash with Tottenham.
“I play football because I want to win, and when you don’t win for so long, you have a very bad feeling. After the game, you could feel in the dressing room that a lot of things had fallen away from us,” hr added.
” Everything is just better after a win, in Kiel, for example, David Mokwa’s debut, which we were able to celebrate in a completely different way.
“A win always gives you energy, and you’ve noticed that in the last few days. But we can’t let up now and we have to keep going. It’s important for all of us to develop a desire to have this feeling much more often.”
