Leon Balogun scored his first goal of the season as Rangers beat visiting Broendby 2-0, to record their first win in Group A of the Europa League on Thursday, completesports.com reports.
Balogun broke the deadlock in the 19th minute as he nodded in James Tavernier’s cross before Kemar Roofe’s made it 2-0 on 30 minutes.
However, Balogun had to go off on 64 minutes due to a hamstring injury and was replaced by Calvin Bassey.
Joe Aribo was also in action for the Scottish champions who are now in third place in the group.
In Group C, Victor Osimhen continued his impressive form in front of goal as he scored in Napoli’s 3-0 home win against Legia Warszawa.
Osimhen now has nine goals in 10 games played in all competitions this season.
The Super Eagles striker, who came on in the 57th minute, scored in the 80th minute to make it 2-0 in favour of Napoli.

With Thursday’s win, which was Napoli’s first in the group stage, they go second on four points.
And in another Europa League game played, Paul Onuachu could not inspire his Belgian side Genk, as they lost 3-0 away to West Ham United.
The defeat leaves Genk bottom in Group H with three points.
Onuachu was on from the beginning of the game before going off for Ike Ugbo in the 73rd minute.
And in the Europa Conference League, Stephen Odey got two goals which helped Randers force Jablonec to a 2-2 away draw in Group D.
The former MFM striker drew Randers level in the 36th minute before getting on the score sheet again from the penalty spot in the 90th minute to make it 2-2.
It was Randers’ third straight draw and are third in the group.
Odey has now scored in three consecutive games and netted four goals in his last three games.
Also, he has found the back of the net eight times in 10 appearances in all competitions since joining Randers on loan from Genk.
And in Group H, Francis Uzoho could not inspire Omonia Nicosia to a first win as they lost 3-1 at Basel.
They are last in the group with just one point after three games played.

Its goals galore from super eagles players, Awoniyi also on the score sheet as well as Sadiq umar. Great show guys. Keep it up.
Nice one from SE players today. Particularly impressed with Joe Aribo. Dude was a menace on the right wing for Rangers.
I think the biggest news today was Roma’s 6-1 humbling at the hands of Bodo/Glimt in Norway.
How the heck did that happen? Jose has some splaining to do.
Granted, the 2 degree weather was bitterly cold, they probably struggled with that. And yes, it was Roma’s second eleven. The starters were on the bench. But these excuses will do nothing to ease the pain of Roma fans!
A night characterized by abysmal defending.
A special defeat for the special one.
This could cost him his job.
At the end of the game, he did show strength of character by walking over to his opposite number, and congratulating him for the incredible result.

Great evening lads, if it wasn’t Osimhen running things for one of the ivory leagues, it was Ugbo of Gent finding his feet in what would have look like catching up from behind. The fearless Aribo was at the center of it as usual. Kai! SE oyinbo wall croner who recently discovered the net as his second home was just there doing shows. Sadiq nko? Udeh nko? isn’t possible for me to go on naming names and events? Mheeeen! I no wan shout, Nigeria is blessed, seeing our players doing Nigeria proud was the kill, can’t wait to see some in the Green-White-Green soon… Though football plaudits have complained, Onuachu was the only flop of the evening and needs to impress to earn a call up to the national side. Chief would discuss more on this. Sura for Chief Thomas Adeboye HRH.
O ga o Chief, E kaaro eh sir. Bawo ni Iya Risi? LoLoLo Chief, I no wan shout croner. Chief funny o! I see your boy is a wonder kid scoring goals even from the bench, that Osibobo na game changer and it seems to Spalleti, there is no alternative, that is if we are to remain truthful in our soft work. ha ha ha, Chief is still changing us gradually. Up up Naija!
