Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface scored and also had an assist, as Bayer Leverkusen opened their Europa League Group H campaign with a 4-0 home win against Swedish club BK Haecken on Thursday.
It is now six goals, three assists in six games in all competitions for Boniface since joining Leverkusen.
Boniface set up teammate Florian Wirtz for the opening goal in the 10th minute.
Boniface then got on the score sheet to make it 3-0 in the 66th minute.
In Group E, Austrian-born Nigerian goalkeeper Tobias Lawal was in goal for LASK who lost 3-1 to Liverpool.

LASK took the lead in the 14th minute through Florian Flecker but Darwin Nunez drew Liverpool level on 56 minutes from the penalty spot.
Luis Diaz put the Reds 2-1 up on 63 minutes while Mohamed Salah sealed the win by adding the third goal on 88 minutes.
Lawal, 23, has kept in all of LASK’s seven games in the Austrian Bundesliga this season where they are currently in third place in the 12-team league table.
Born to a Nigerian father and an Austrian mother, Lawal has featured for Austria’s U-19 and U-20 national teams.
In September 2020, he was called up by Gernot Rohr for the Super Eagles’ friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia.
