Romania swept aside Ukraine 3-0 in their Euro 2024 Group E Opener on Monday.
It was the first time Edward Iordanescu’s side have scored three goals in a European Championship game since June 2000 in their infamous 3-2 victory over England – their only previous win at a Euros finals.
Captain Nicolae Stanciu opened scoring for Romania with a stunning finish on 29 minutes.

Stanciu capitalized on Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin’s error to curl a delicious finish from 25 yards in off the underside of the bar.
Lunin was also culpable for Romania’s second goal allowing Razvan Marin’s speculative shot to veer underneath his body eight minutes after the break.
Romania killed off the game four minutes later with Denis Dragus converting from close range.
