Romelu Lukaku had a game to forget as two of his goals were chalked off in Belgium’s 1-0 defeat to Slovakia in Group E of the European Championship on Monday.
Ivan Schranz gave Slovakia the lead when he got on the score sheet in the 7th minute.
Lukaku thought he had equalised for Belgium in the 56th minute only to see his goal disallowed after consultation with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
With four minutes left in the game Lukaku was on target again and for the second time he saw his effort disallowed by VAR.
According to Statsdufoot, Lukaku is the first player to have scored two goals cancelled by VAR during a EURO match.
The defeat left Belgium in third place in Group E while Romania and Slovakia are first and second respectively.
