Cristiano Ronaldo has missed out on a spot in UEFA’s Team of the Tournament, with finalists England and Italy dominating the line-up.
Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma — who was named the player of the tournament — along with defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Leonardo Spinazzola, midfielder Jorginho and winger Federico Chiesa were all selected in the line-up.
Italy won the Euros for the first time since 1968 as Donnarumma saved two England penalties en route to a 3-2 shootout win after the teams had fought out a 1-1 extra-time draw in Sunday’s final at Wembley.

England right-back Kyle Walker, centre-back Harry Maguire and forward Raheem Sterling were also included in the team of the tournament, which was named by UEFA’s technical observer team.
Spain midfielder Pedri, who was named the young player of the tournament, was also among the top 11 players, alongside Denmark’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku.
Sterling scored three goals for England, while Lukaku scored four times for Belgium, which was knocked out by Italy in the quarterfinals.

Confused TECHNICAL team. Someone scored 5 goals + 1 assist to finish as top scorer, yet has no place in your TEAM of the TOURNAMENT.
Also how on earth did a defender who provided 3 assists and scored in the final got edged out by a player who didnt score any goal and whose tourney ended PREMATURELY due to an unfortunate injury??
Ronaldo and Shaw ought to be in this team by a mile!
Agree with you on Luke Shaw. That guy had a heck of a tournament. I think he was the best left back in the Euros.
As for CR7, it’s a close call. Lukaku and Chiesa look like they deserve their spots. Switching to 4-2-4 and dropping one of the 3 midfielders might be an option. That way, CR7 can partner Lukaku upfront.
