Cameroon legend, Samuel Eto’o, believes that an African team can win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
No African team has been able to reach the semi-final stage of the FIFA World Cup. Cameroon and Senegal got to the quarter-finals at Italia ’90 and Korea/Japan 2002 respectively and Ghana achieved the same feat at the South Africa 2010 edition.
Eto’o believes that African teams have acquired enough experience and one of them can win the World Cup in this edition.

“Africa has always had the potential to have strong World Cups, but we haven’t always shown our best side up to now,” Getfootballnewsfrance.com quoted Eto’o as saying.
“Over the course of the past few years, African teams have acquired more and more experience. I think they are not only capable of participating in this World Cup, but also of winning it.”
Eto’o represented the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at four FIFA World Cup finals, namely; France ’98, Korea/Japan 2002, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014 editions.
Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal are Africa’s representatives at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

I don’t think so Eto.If there’s a team capable of such a bold achievevement got to be Nigeria.
Apparently, sometimes we do have an act of great courage or skill to accomplish we definitely will achieve that feat in the nearest future.
@Greenturf
I share your optimism, but I don’t think all departments of the SE have reached WC level yet. The strikers are there.
Clueless NFF is operating on “gather and play”, unfortunately. It takes foresight, planning, merciless build-up, and structural development to win the WC. I’m afraid we’re currently just itching to grab the clouds with the bare hands.
So upon all the six appearances, Nigeria have not even make the quarter finals before?
Who mentioned number of appearances here? Sane people are rubbing minds please. I thought you might have been in Libya, trying to catch a boat across the Mediterranean to Qatar to watch the 3 games hahaha!
Oh yes ur mother and wife is with me in the boat and u know what, very soon ur wife ll divorce ur stinking, skinny ass, u punk lol
Bitch ass NEGRO LOL
@Selfmade my friend, before we won the Olympics we never made it to the knockout stages.
Also look at most youth tournaments both male and female we have finished on the podium more than any African sides,we have always been the team to go the shinning light of Africa. We have qualified for most FIFA competitions both male and female and in most of this tournaments we have gone a step further more than other African representatives.
On a good day we do have a team capable of going all the way,it will happen just like the Olympics in 1996.
We don’t have the players to achieve that feat right now but like I stated above in the foreseeable future we will get it right.
The north Africans aren’t going to achieve that, their football achievements ends in Africa outside Africa they are very weak.Senegal has a good team but they don’t have that unflinching determination that will see you victorious throughout the campaign.Nigerians have this audacious fearlessness in them especially when we get it right, and Ghana too has it but they may not have the capacity we have as a big nation to achieve such huge or enormous feat.
Despite going behind most times against Ghana at senior level it is more psychological than actual abilities. But this things don’t last forever,we will turn the table at some point. But for now respect to Ghana wish you and other teams representing Africa good-luck.
Don’t be naughty Greenturf, Ghana will definitely win this year world cup. FIFA will preset them their cup after their 3rd match. Please let’s respect and support our West African brothers now. Ha!!! ha!! ha!
Greenfurf….
Nigeria has only WON the fifa under 17 and nothing else
Ghana has won both fifa under 17
and fifa under 20, the only AFRICA nation to have won both tournaments
@Selfmade Toilet, eat shit. Upon all the curses rained on you, you are still standing. One day the curses will work. U ought to be ashamed of yourself talking about your wife. My wife is more beautiful than yours which is why she won Miss Asanti Kotoko. Which beauty pageant has your wife ever won??
We have been warning you never to come here again. Leave now, begone, vamoose, gerrout!!!
Unfounded comment which relies more on hope than reality
Nigeria so comfortable with mediocrity. self proclaim giant of Africa. Lol. Look at Senegal growth first world cup 2002. Quarters now they are one of the favourites. Bur no mumu Nigeria will have finished legs as Captain all in a name of two flash In the pan goals against Minnows Iceland and of course quota system because god forbid that the highest capped player is not fulani. Player selection interference and so on. Debating whether we should put NPFL mumu players who cannot even reach group stage of CAF Champions league to prosecute strong friendlies thaT affect fifa ranking. After all this self sabotaging they will still call them Self giant then start wishing our rivals achieve what we deny ourselves the chance to knowing full well we had every resources to achieve had fairness and merit been the order of the day in this god forsaken country . Inshore only God will judge the rotten country.
The sad thing is 4 years from now we will self sabotage again. A fulani will still be captain until i\he is 100 years old even if he is in Malta second division. Then some fans will say he is a legend he scored 12 years ago against Argetina in WC LOOOL. Mumu yeye Nonsens Reasoning country. FVCKING HELL!
The TRIBAL and RELIGIOUS BIGOT has SPOKEN!
In Africa, the country Nigerians are very close to and are very comfortable with is Ghana. Let’s put rivalry aside and support Ghana, let’s support the Black Stars
Self made shit, thought you were locked up in a mental home in Accra. You disgust me. Nothing good can ever come from you. Off course every one knows Ghana women are loose. With a plate of indomie, they can open your legs sharp sharp. It is clear your mother is loose, your wife is loose, you are a looser
Thumbs up brotherman. We have warned this selfmade sewage never to come here again. He is playing with fire. Nigerian curses are deadly. When he starts to dance shaku shaku on the street naked with his dick dangling up and down, then he will regret the day he commented on this platform. He shall cry. His day of reckoning is fast approaching. My wife is far better than his wife which is why his wife will never win Miss Asanti Kotoko.
U have an iq like the back of a scrubbing brush lol
What a NIGERIAN fruitcake lol
@Selfmade excrement Let this be the last time you visit this platform or else you can u will turn up missing. Be warned.
Ghana will play more than three matches. They’ve been quarter finalist before. Clearly they are not the underdog in their group, and no opponent of theirs is going to underrate them. They have proven clearly they know how to play the world cup. They approach the world cup differently from how they do to the afcon
Hahahahaha….talk about calling a spade a spade….for example….
“…Bur no mumu Nigeria will have finished legs as Captain all in a name of two flash In the pan goals against Minnows Iceland…”
June 2018 FIFA Rankings:
(minnows) Iceland – 22 (Behind minnows Croatia [finalist], Italy and Netherlands)
(non-minnow) Nigeria – 48
A team that was 26 whole places above you is what you call minnows…..please what then are you….???
And he claims to call a spade a spade…..LMAOOooo
“…two flash In the pan goals against Minnows Iceland…”
The FIFA Technical Study group comprising of seasoned coaches, journalists and technical personnel after the 2018 WC picked the top 10 out of the 169 goals scored in that tournament. It is my pleasure to let you know that one of Ahmed Musa’s “FLASH IN THE PAN” goals was listed…..which was his 4th goal at a FIFA world cup after scoring another 2 “FLASH IN THE PAN” goals against 2014 finalists Argentina at the 2014 World cup. I guess Argentina too must be Minnows. It is my pleasure to also inform you that 1 of the goals against Argentina made top 10 goals of the group stages too.
2 world cups, 4 goals, 2 top 10 nominations…….It cant be any flashy if you ask me….LMAOooo.
Once can be accidental, twice can be a coincidence, 4 times (3rd highest goal scorer at the WC from Africa) is legendary. Asamoah Gyan, Roger Milla, Ahmed Musa, Samuel Etoo and the rest…in that order….LMAOoo. Anyone who can “flash his pan” all the way to that position deserves to be respected and honored.
And he calls a spade a spade…..LMAOOooo
“…Nigeria will have finished legs as Captain….”
At club level, the “finished legged” captain is currently gonna be featuring at R16 stage of an European club competition.
At National team level, the “finished legged” captain was involved in 4 goals (2 pre-assists and 2 direct assists) after coming off the bench in the last competitive match he played for Nigeria in June. Those legs are finished indeed. Please if that is how assists fly left, right and center from finished legs, in the Super Eagles may all our players develop finished legs.
He calls a spade a spade…..LMAOOooo.
Anyone who hears you refer to a spade should better go and check properly that the object in question is not a pencil or a padlock….especially if it is made by a muslim or in the north of Nigeria.
A feel your pain ehn….the world doesnt, shouldnt and wouldnt revolve around you and your kindred alone.
