Oghenekaro Etebo is delighted with an opportunity for a ‘new start’ at Spanish LaLiga club Getafe whose keen interest to have his service motivated him to accept their loan deal offer, Completesports.com reports.
Etebo stated this during his unveiling ceremony at the club on Thursday.
The Super Eagles midfielder sealed a loan switch from English Championship side Stoke City until the end of the 2019/2020 season.
And is now looking forward to playing regular competitive matches for the Pepe Bordalas’ team, such that eluded him under new Stoke City manager, Michael O’Neill.
“I opted for Getafe because of the interest they showed and because they want to be in Europe,” Etebo said.
The Super Eagles midfielder says playing games is important to him no matter the nature of the competition.

“Any match is important, whether in the Championship in Stoke City or in Europe in Getafe.”
On his new Getafe teammates, Etebo looks forward to blending well with them, saying he personally knows some of them.
“I know (Leandro) Chichizola at Las Palmas, I have also played against many others like (Allan) Nyom in international matches and when we faced each other two seasons ago.”
And on his experience at Stoke in the last few weeks before finally joining Getafe, he said: “It’s a new start [in Getafe].”
