A Newcastle United a fan was reportedly stabbed in Milan the night before their Champions League clash with AC Milan on Tuesday.
According to talkSPORT, the name of the victim is 58-year-old Eddie McKay.
However McKay’s daughter, Rachel said he is now stable in hospital after being attacked by men in balaclavas.
“My dad is stable but in shock.
“He is gutted he’s missing the match but just wants every other Newcastle fan out there to be aware of this and be safe.
“He just had two knee replacements so he fell when he was being chased and that is when he was attacked. I’m flying out there.”
A club spokesperson said: “We are deeply concerned by reports that a supporter was seriously assaulted in Milan on Monday evening and we are liaising with local authorities to understand the circumstances.
“Our thoughts are with the supporter and their family and we hope for a full and speedy recovery.”

A statement from the Milanese Police, said: “The victim was with a friend and it is thought they encountered a group of seven/eight other people.
“It is not known if this group were Italian or foreigners. The state police have opened an investigation to try and discover exactly what happened, the motive and to find those responsible.
“Many Newcastle fans have arrived in the city of Milan and this is the only reported incident.”
The Magpies will make a return to the Champions League since the 2002/03 season.
In that season they got to the second group stage but finished third behind Barcelona and Inter Milan.
In their most recent campaign in Europe Newcastle reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League in the 2013/14 season where they lost to Benfica.
