Barcelona are reportedly considering a move to appoint Roberto Martinez as their next manager if they opt to sack Ernesto Valverde.
Several Spanish media outlets are claiming that the Catalan giants have lost patience with Valverde after the side followed up their 4-0 Champions League semi-final second-leg debacle against Liverpool with defeat against Valencia in Saturday’s Copa del Rey.
Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu said Valverde was not to blame for the cup final defeat, but it seems that it was the 55-year-old’s final game at the helm.

Valverde, who has won back-to-back La Liga titles at the Camp Nou, is under contract until summer 2020, but current Belgium boss, Martinez, is thought to be the man who the club want to replace him this summer.
Former Barca defender Ronald Koeman, who is currently at the helm of the Netherlands national team, has also been mentioned as a potential replacement for Valverde.
