The Nigeria international said they expected a difficult test before the game.
“We knew how Wolfsburg would perform and what to expect,” Boniface was quoted by the club’s official website.
” At half-time we agreed again because we really wanted to turn the game around for our fans. We did that. Of course we are very happy now.”
The 23-year-old has scored three goals in the Bundesliga this season.
