Nigerian- born defender Fikayo Tomori put up a fine performance as Chelsea recorded their first home win of the season following a 2-0 home win against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Completesports.com reports.
Tomori, who paired Andreas Christensen at the heart of the Blues’ defence, was in imperious form throughout the encounter and helped the West London club
kept their first clean sheet of the season.
Tammy Abraham, who is also eligible to represent Nigeria at senior international level , failed to score in second consecutive Premier League game.
Brighton’s Leon Balogun missed out of the game as a result of injury.
The centre-back is yet to make a league appearance for the Seagulls this season.
Isaac Success also missed Watford’s 2-0 away defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers as result of injury.
Matt Doherty opened scoring for Wolves in the 18th minute, while Darryl Janmaat’s own goal a minute after the hour mark made the points safe for the hosts.
Tottenham Hotspur recorded a slim 2-1 home win against hard fighting Southampton with Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane scoring for the Lillywhites.
At the Villa Park, hosts Aston Villa and Burnley battled to an entertaining 2-2 draw.
Ahmed El Ghazi and John McGinn got the goals for Aston Villa, while Jay Rodriguez and Chris Wood were on target for Burnley.
In the other fixtures, Bournemouth and West Ham United battled to a 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium, while Crystal Palace edged out Norwich City 2-0 at home.
