Bukayo Saka netted a brace as Arsenal moved eight points clear at the top of the Premier League after defeating Crystal Palace 4-1 in Sunday’s Prremier League.
The Gunners, aiming to become champions for the first time since 2003-04, went ahead at Emirates Stadium through Gabriel Martinelli’s left-footed strike – his sixth goal in six league matches.
Bukayo Saka doubled the lead when he collected Ben White’s pass and curled an effort past 19-year-old goalkeeper Joe Whitworth.
Granit Xhaka made it 3-0 with a first-time finish from Leandro Trossard’s assist, before Jeffrey Schlupp pulled one back from close range following a corner for Palace’s first goal in five matches.
But the excellent Saka restored Arsenal’s three-goal advantage with a guided finish from Kiernan Tierney’s pull-back to seal the victory.
Arsenal have 69 points from 28 matches, with second-placed Manchester City, who beat Burnley 6-0 in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday, on 61 points having played a game less.

Have Nigeria been a brand with intellects and actuall people with the best interest of Nigeria at heart I tell you we would have seen Saka and Osimhen lining up for Super Eagles… Osimhen I have a feeling is upset with the shenanigans that is going on In SE camp everytime he arrives. I mean how can a world class player come in and see that people that he is miles ahead off are in the team instead of other people that are miles ahead of them.. i mean how can you explain Musa making the team ahead of a Isaac Success based on current form and Match fitness. Or Tyrone Ebuehi missing out of this squad. Why is Folarin Balogun not being touted. I see Gift Orban made the Under 24’s but that means he is still eligible for Togo if they come calling priority should be to tie a player of this calibre to our cause… it makes no sense how things are done in Nigeria
I mean the NFF is saying that we need 3 players from NPFL to improve the status of the local league yet we can not win Chan and we saw how much interest CHAN Drew EArlier this year. And how many scouts from overseas go there. So instead of focusing local players on Chan they wnat to bring the standard of SE down even After we missed out of WC. I swear mumu everywhere in this country.
