Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun made the bench for the first time this season as Brighton & Hove Albion thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 in their Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon, reports Completesports.com.
Balogun failed to make the matchday squad in Brighton’s previous seven league games this season.
Neil Maupay opened scoring for the Seagulls in the third minute following a mistake by Hugo Lloris.
Lloris was strechered off minutes later after suffering a nasty arm injury.
The Frechman landed awkwardly on his left arm and, after a lengthy spell of treatment, he was replaced Paulo Gazzaniga.
Tottenham Hotspur side were second best throughout the first half and Brighton deservedly extended their lead in the 32nd minute thanks to Connolly’s close-range finish.
Spurs’ dreadful afternoon was complete in the 65th minute when the impressive Connolly cut inside Toby Alderweireld before finding the far corner to extend Pochettino side’s winless run on the road to 10 Premier League matches, stretching back to January.
