Aston Villa continued their impressive form in the Premier League as the team defeated Man City 1-0 at Villa Park on Wednesday.
The host dominated the game from start to finish as Unai Emery’s magnificent Villa side proved they can stand the best teams in the league.
In a game where the champions struggled to create and were far too easy to penetrate, Leon Bailey scored a second-half winner and Pep Guardiola’s side looked vulnerable.
City conceded 13 shots in the first half alone, the most ever faced by a Guardiola team in a top-flight fixture.
The defeat, once again coming without Rodri, follows draws against Tottenham Hostpur, Liverpool and Chelsea and leaves City six points behind leaders Arsenal and fourth in the table.
Meanwhile, in the other game, a Scott McTominay’s double ensure Man United edge Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
The Scottish international opened the scoring as Man United peppered shots at Robert Sanchez in the visitors’ goal in the first half.
However, they would go in at the break level after Palmer equalised with a brilliant strike.
United would take control in the second half though, and they dominated in parts before McTominay added a second on the night to send his side into to top six.
