Meanwhile, Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi was substituted in the 82nd minute for Danilo.

A well executed side-foot kick by Aina nestled in the Aston Villa net. From that distance, many players would have opted to use the in step to generate power, but Aina went for placement instead, and it worked.
Martinez, who just won the best goalie in the world award, did his best to stop the shot, but failed.
Villa huffed and puffed, but Nottingham managed to contain them.
Even when he’s not scoring, one thing Awoniyi will always bring to the table is his hold up play. Today, as usual, it was top notch.
Aina is the most versatile national team player I have seen in recent years. This guy can play.
Played from both sides of the defence, maintained great discipline and positioning and topped it all with a top-notch technique of hitting a mobile ball with accuracy. In his entire career, he has played all positions at the back and won’t be surprised to see him playing other positions.
In Awoniyi, you already know you’ve an all round attacking threat with great ball holding, speed, control and one on prowess.
I watched Iwobi and Bassey the other day and was happy to a highly skilled attacking mindset, and a greatly improved defensive player come from Nigeria.
Onyeka did show up too with a sensational display.
These are the fulcrum of the SE for now.
Great to see
