Enyimba has extended their best wishes to their coach, Finidi George after he was appointed head coach of the Super Eagles.
Recall that on Monday, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) appointed the former Ajax star to take over from Jose Peseiro.

However, Enyimba expressed their joy regarding Finidi’s new role on their social media platform.
The club’s message said simply, “Congratulations to Finidi on his latest achievement.”
Finidi, a prominent figure from Nigeria’s renowned ‘Golden Generation,’ notably clinched the Africa Cup of Nations title in 1994 and represented Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup finals in the same year, where the team emerged as the second most entertaining side in their debut appearance.

I believe he will do his best if given a free hand in handling his job. All the best finito
In continental CAF football tournaments, Finidi often deployed a 4-3-3 formation.
How will the Super Eagles look under him?
I think he will replicate this formation for the national team. A natural born winger himself I think he will place emphasis on wing play.
We should see a front three having Lookman and Ejuke with Osimhen the arrow head.
The midfield triangle should have Ndidi and Iwobi propped up by Daniel Daga.
In defence, Zaidu and Aina will sandwich Bassey and Ekong.
In goal, Nwabili will be retained.
I suspect Finidi will adopt a methodical build-up play approach to carve out scoring opportunities rather than the all-out-attack initially favoured by his predecessor Peseiro.
To be honest, Finidi has it in him to give this appointment all his best but will his best be good enough?
After his appointment, I gave up hope of qualifying for the world cup (as with many other fans) but I also genuinely think that Finidi can pull out a rabbit from his hat.
I have gone back to watch highlights some of Eyimba’s games on the continent and noticed a distinct lack of organisation in their movements.
This led to them crashing out against Wydad. The Eyimba players didn’t appear to always be on the same page. Sloppy defending, lack of midfield imagination and inability to carve out neat scoring chances were obvious.
But the formation was sound and, with better drilling and higher quality players, Eyimba could have defeated Wydad.
I guess for me the building blocks are there for Finidi to bring himself up to scratch with the Super Eagles.
Hopefully he learns quickly and surround himself with sound assistants. I am willing to give him a chance but my expectations are rock bottom.
I’m jaded but won’t stop me from joining the comment section later on. Sleep
