Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has celebrated his son’s promotion to Lille’s U-18 squad.
Enyeama took to his Facebook page to felicitate with the youngster.
“God is the greatest. Home sweet home. Back home in a different skin #losc #prouddaddy❤️ #younggoalie #youngcoach #newadventure @losclive,” he wrote.
The 41-year-old spent seven years at Lille following his arrival from Israeli side, Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2011.

On the international scene, Enyeama represented Nigeria 101 times, playing at two FIFA World Cups.
He was a member of the Super Eagles side that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
His son would be hoping to emulate him by playing for Lille’s first team and Nigeria.

Praise be The Lord. Another Enyeama is coming!
It’s very likely this young man already has a French passport. If we want him, the NFF should start involving him in our age grade competitions now. We shouldn’t wait for the French to approach him first.
We are quick to blame these young lads for preferring a foreign country to their “fatherland”, but qe fail to invest in them when their careers are at the budding stage. We should not always hope to reap where we did not sow.
A word is enough for the wise.
The NFF had better gone to apologize to his father first, for standing arms aloof when that egoistic psycho called Oliseh was busy humiliating and destroying his father’s legacies in the national team for his own selfish and egoistic interests.
No matter how long we have lived abroad, we are still Africans…and only a bastard son will fraternize with his father’s enemies. And that is why our saying goes that “a man whose father was killed by a snake will take to his heels when he sees a rope”.
Without recourse to the way his father, the then incumbent captain and most capped player in the SE, was undeservedly disgraced out of the national team……For a country that has developed subtle hatred for “foreign borns”, I wouldn’t advice Enyeama Jnr to choose Nigeria if France or Israel are interested in him.
…to not choose Nigeria if France or Israel are interested ….
Unfortunately, our political class (including the NFF) do not have such common sense or humility.
I hope this young man does not end up playing for France or Israel.
@Dr.DREY, sorry but I couldn’t resist not commenting on the obtuse notion that people should discount their ancestry because of conflict with a single individual. Fortunately, Vincent Enyeama continues to be a big Nigerian booster and therefore reasonably certain not to share in such ludicrous reasoning.
Frankly, EVERY Nigerian (regardless of how each came to be Nigerian – foreign-born, domestic-born, nationalization, marriage, etc.) shares a common obligation to contribute to making Nigeria BETTER, and sometimes that means doing something in a different and better way because of a bad experience.
BTW, it was Nigeria that afforded Vincent the opportunities and platform that essentially ‘made’ his professional (and personal) and life. Ultimately, Nigeria’s condition is the culmination of the various actions of ALL NIGERIANS – either by commission or omission!
You talk as if Nigeria has the right to humiliate any man, simply because it “made” him….and as if a man has no right to feel humiliated when humiliated simply because Nigeria ‘made’ him. If I didnt know better, I would have said you were bathe with the same bathwater our sports administrators were bathe with. They typically want to beat a man and still tell him how to cry.
The relationship between every country and its citizens is symbiotic. The country ‘made’ Enyeama and he also ‘made’ Nigeria in his own little way. So stop painting a picture of Nigeria “doing enyeama a favour” and so he has to accept to be humiliated whenever the country wills.
The same Vincent Enyeama whom you claim “…continues to be a big Nigerian booster and therefore reasonably certain not to share in such ludicrous reasoning….” just recently revealed that he stopped following the SE since that unfortunate night in 2015 when he was forcibly ejected from the team hotel by that egomaniac and has only just started watching them skeletally.
Simply put, he distanced himself from the team he once captained for nearly a decade. That shows a man scorned, irrespective of what Nigeria has “done for him” in time past
This effectively throws flushes your logic down the sewers.
There are MANY, I repeat, MANY Nigerians in the diaspora today who will scorn at the mention of the name NIGERIA, talk more of visit Nigeria ever again simply because of the hurt done to them or their close family. What are we even saying….I know thousands of Nigerians, born, bred, buttered, raised and currently living in Nigeria, who have not been to their villages in decades, nor have let their children go anywhere near their ancestral homes due to hurts from the past.
That once again shreds your notion that it is obtuse to believe people can discount their ancestry because of past conflict.
I wouldn’t go any further…. I’ll only reiterate, that our elders were not fools when they stated that “a man whose father was killed by a snake will take to his heels when he sees a rope”
No matter the heights any country takes me, no son of mine will pay allegiance to the same country if it also brings me down to the lowest ebb I will ever fall in my lifetime afterwards, unless some form of reparation is done…..otherwise, I will guarantee him that a fate worse than mine will definitely befall him.
An african adage says again “you can eat with your enemies, but dont allow them to cook for you”
Once again, for a country that has developed subtle hatred for “foreign borns” led by Segun Odegbami and Mr Clueless Sports Minister John Enoh, even going as far as heaping the blames of the country’s recent slide (after hiring an incompetent coach) on the doorsteps of “foreign borns”, I wouldn’t advice Enyeama Jnr to choose Nigeria if France or Israel are interested in him.
@Dr. DREY, abegi quit weeping louder than the bereaved…LOL!
Vincent Enyeama does NOT feel “humiliated” by Nigerians. He has been at the SE camp several times when they’ve played in Uyo, and continues to contribute in his own ways to the Nigeria football community. Sounds like you’re PROJECTING! SMH
Hahahaha…..he wants to twist the whole discussion…..LMAOoo. And yet he talks about contexts….LMAOOo
Pls before you labour in vain any further, kindly point out where I ever said Vincent Enyeama feels humiliated by “Nigerians”
Once again, let me send you on another errand to google (if you will ever go) and stop rabble rousing unnecessarily.
Just search “Enyeama on being humiliated out of the Super Eagles” and “I have not been watching Nigerian football – Enyeama”
You can thereafter continue your slow-witted argument with the results of the search……LMAOoo
Drey my Bro, Oliseh had issues with Enyeama , as a coach of SE then he was representing Nigeria, so I could see reasons why Enyeama could be having grudges then, but NIGERIA as an entity is the embodiment of more than 200m people and this is the from the angle I would Love Enyeama and son to see Nigeria, the era of Oliseh has long gone ,even the sports minister and the FA chairman then have both been confined to the annals of history. I bet if Enyeama is being offered a coaching job at any of our national teams, he would jump at the offer, notwithstanding his 2015 rifts with Oliseh. Do you realize that Oliseh himself alongside with Ikpeba and Finidi were unfairly axed from the SE in 2002 after the AFCON and that was the end of the their career in SE ??, did that stop the 3 from serving Nigeria in other various capacities???
Emmecco, I am not the one who controls Enyeama’s thought process or heart desires so I wouldnt tell what, when or how he should render himself to Nigeria.
But I recall vividly that Rohr multiple times tried to bring Enyeama back to the SE, especially soon after we lost Ikeme to Leukemia, but Enyeama turned down that offer and chose to stay retired. Severally too, Enyeama’s name has popped up from the NFF as one that would be given the SE GK coach job but Enyeama has not even appeared keen on it. Only recently, Vincent himself made the startling revelation that he hasnt been following Nigerian football since 2015 and has only just about now start doing so…?
What does all of these tell you….? Its simple…the man is deeply scorned and finding it within himself to heal. He knows he probably would still be keeping by now if he wasnt humiliated out of the National team in that manner. If you have ever been humiliated out of a workplace you gave your all before, you would relate to the type of gash in the heart. Enyeama never really recovered from that heartbreak and back-stab and if followed him all the way back to his club
Buffon only recently hung his gloves. Essam El-Hadary played at 45 years in the 2018 WC. Dele Aiyenugba whom Vincent met at Enyimba is still keeping goal till today….infact Dele’s son is one of the GKs of Beyond Limits who recently gained promotion to the NPFL by winning the NNL. So I am Very Very sure that barring any career threatening injuries, Vincent could still have lasted up till at least 2022 before calling it quits with the SE even if as 3rd choice GK.
So expecting that kind of a person to willfully hand over his young budding son to a raggish ragged system that humiliated him, when the boy has better options is overtly optimistic. Even the boy must still vividly remember his father’s mood around the house after that incident and must still be traumatized at the thought of also submitting himself to that system.
But no one can tell of tommorrow, like I said I am not the one who controls Enyeama’s thought process or heart desires so I wouldnt tell what, when or how he should render himself to Nigeria (By Nigeria I mean the NFF now, before people with low IQ will come here looking for political validation again….LMAOo).
But yet again, for a country that has developed subtle hatred for “foreign borns” led by Segun Odegbami and Mr Clueless Sports Minister John Enoh, even going as far as heaping the blames of the country’s recent slide (after hiring an incompetent coach) on the doorsteps of “foreign borns”, I wouldn’t advice Enyeama Jnr to choose Nigeria if France or Israel are interested in him.
Anybody (not refering to you Emmecco) who is not happy with my opinion can drink rat poison for all I care.
@Bomboy, exactly how is Nigeria supposed to “invest” in the “budding careers” of EVERY young player of Nigerian descent? Or is it supposed to be only those ones whose parents were Nigerian internationals?!
There are myriad things to rightfully criticize the oft-inept NFF about, but this isn’t one of them. Nigeria is struggling just to “invest” its scarce resources in the MILLIONS of kids playing football right here in Nigeria.
The reality is that as scores of Nigerians continue to “japa”, there’ll be MILLIONS of kids of Nigerian descent with multiple nationalities and loyalties. We cannot realistically expect all of them to play for Nigeria.
@9jaRealist, I already provided a suggestion how the NFF can invest in him by saying they should invite him for age grade competitions instead of waiting for him to break into the big leagues before inviting him to the SE proper.
Many of you in this forum don’t properly read through before opposing another person’s Comment.
Not to discount the reality of age fraud, but if he was in Nigeria, the wags will you this young man is “no less than 25 years old…” LOL!
Just goes to show that you cannot always judge age merely by physical development. GOOD LUCK to the lad!
Yea….because Nigerians know what most 25-year-old Nigeria bred kid looks like, especially the ones who play football and also know how fraudulent the Nigerian system has been from time immemorial.
I even read online yesterday that a STATE CHIEF JUDGE in Nigeria was de-robbed and sacked from the bar for AGE FALSIFICATION….LMAOoo. Yes….even judges are criminals in Nigeria.
So do not blame Nigerians if they rightfully cannot trust their system.
And indeed Age can most times be judged (albeit imprecisely) by physical appearance. Depending on the environment where the kid was raised, we can tell a 35 year old from a 16 year old.
You speak of “environment” in this context as if it’s something in the air. Physical development depends on genes, physical exertion, nutrition, etc. A young athlete is likely to be physically more developed than a regular kid of the same age rangew – regardless of they were both born in Lille or Iyana Ipaja!
Please google “Joseph Minala Lazio” and “South Sudan u20 goalkeeper” and come back to tell us you cannot tell from the pictures you see that both lads are not teenagers by just their physical appearance.
Even in biological science and anthropology, there is what is called “the growth curve” which has variables like time and nutrition as independent variables.
So continue arguing against science ehn….LMAOoo. Let us know when you have succeeded with that. I’m not in for desperate attempts to be politically correct on issues which are as clear as daylight on a summer beach.
I am sorry ehn, If you cannot tell the difference between a teenager and a lad in his 30s based on their physical appearance or development…..some of us can, with at least 90% accuracy.
Enough said already…!
@Dr. DREY, please quit with the ridiculous Strawman Arguments based on the most extreme cases…LOL!
CONTEXT is an import preface to any intelligent or rational discourse, so while of course one can tell the difference in age between a toddler and a septuagenarian or octogenarian, the context here is ATHLETES in the same age RANGE!
If you knew what “context” means in the first place, you wouldn’t even the blurting out the specious, yet mindless arguments you are putting up.
Once again, if you as a person cannot tell the difference between a teenager and a lad in his 30s based on their physical appearance or development….then congratulations and good for you. Some of us can, with implausibly outlandish ease.
When we used to use Enyimba, Iwuanayawu Nationale, Enugu Rangers, 3SC players with 2-3 years playing experience in the NPFL as Golden Eaglets players, some of us could tell they werent even close to teenage. And when we also started using MRI grade 4 players in the Golden Eaglets, we could also tell that yes, now we have players we can class as teenagers in our U17 national team.
In both instances, they were ATHLETES claiming to be within the same AGE RANGE.
Kindly let us know when you are done arguing against science
Good day.
@Dr.DREY, repeating Strawman’s Arguments doesn’t make them any more valid…LOL!
My very FIRST sentence STARTED with “Not to discount the reality of age fraud”, so the nonsensical rigmarole of trying to prove that age fraud exists in Nigeria is just obtuse. If you’re going to comment on a post, it’s important first to COMPREHEND the post and (if you have to) argue against the point actually being made. You started off by arguing about “environment” and when that was debunked, has gone off the tangent with childish and churlish IRRELEVANT Strawman Arguments.
BTW, quit blathering on about “science” because any notion of uniform physical development in humans is about as “scientific” as wearing old underwear for good luck! LMAO!!
Hahahahaha…have you googled “Joseph Minala Lazio” and “South Sudan u20 goalkeeper” or you still want to continue to remain pitifully mindless…..LMAOOo.
Have you also compared our U17 team of 1993 to our U17 team of 2015 and out U17 team of 2005 to our U17 team of 2024, or do you still want to continue to crave “political correctness”…..LMAOooo
Call it any name you want, let you first sentence be written in cryptic Egyptian Hieroglyphs….LMAOOo….but once again, Kindly let us know when you are done arguing against science….LMAOoo
Hahahaha…done wrestling with basic English comprehension? LOL!
Your so-called ‘science’ is to respond with “players with 2-3 years playing experience in the NPFL” to my assertion that “you cannot always judge age MERELY by physical development” (emphasis added). How does that equate to MERE physical development?! Or is that a new form of VOODOO “science”?! LMAO!
Yea….because you are poorly educated, you never saw that part of the comment which reads…
“…When we used to use Enyimba, Iwuanayawu Nationale, Enugu Rangers, 3SC players with 2-3 years playing experience in the NPFL as Golden Eaglets players, some of us could tell they werent even close to teenage. And when we also started using MRI grade 4 players in the Golden Eaglets, we could also tell that yes, now we have players we can class as teenagers in our U17 national team……In both instances, they were ATHLETES claiming to be within the same AGE RANGE….”
which was written in response to your lame face-saving diversion of “…ATHLETES in the same age RANGE…”
I even capitalized the keywords ATHLETES and same age RANGE
But in your desperate aim to score cheap points and be politically correct as apparent from when you began your “hollow contentions” you quickly wrapped one sentence around “science”, skipping where I even mentioned biological sciences and anthropology…..LMAOOo
Yet he talks about contexts…? LMAOOoo
No wonder they say If education is expensive, try ignorance
Your eyes need some glucose, go and get something to eat and stop stressing over someone else’s ability to tell a teenager from a lad in his 30s….LMAOOooo
Again, before you drag us away from the crux of the matter with your futile face-saving ducking and dodging attempts….
Have you googled “Joseph Minala Lazio” and “South Sudan u20 goalkeeper” or you still want to continue to remain pitifully mindless…LMAOOo.
Have you also compared our U17 team of 1993 to our U17 team of 2015 and our U17 team of 2005 to our U17 team of 2024, or do you still want to continue to crave “political correctness”….LMAOooo
LOL…speaking of “poorly educated”, you do realize that “athletes in the same age range” is NOT the same thing as “athletes CLAIMING to be in the same age range” (helpful emphasis added for your edification…LOL!). Again, basic COMPREHENSION is useful for intelligent discourse (which I realize is often a rarity here).
5Star comment “CS kindly pin this”.
@9jaRealist you just got a major fan keep it up you’re the man. I don’t expect jumbo to agree with your excellent reasoning even though he also has a point.
Hahahahaha….anumanu. I thought you claimed you are a father…..LMAOoo
Wait till your sons bring home women older than you as fiancés for you to be able to judge age by physical development.
Sheepish iberibe…!
@Chima, NP but our resident “DR.” has no point…LOL!
My point was that “you cannot always judge age MERELY by physical development” (emphasis added), and he responds by citing “players with 2-3 years playing experience in the NPFL”. How does that equate to MERE physical development?! Or is our Resident struggling with basic comprehension?! SMH
@9jaRealist the only reason jumbo is tackling you is because your points are not only valid but also exposing his mediocre sense of reasoning. You know poverty goes with poor nutrition that is why they always think everyone is over age from where they come from as this is what he is use to encountering. You don’t have to argue with drey because he gets hangover whenever he’s exposed and tries to use a different thing that is out of context to seek refuge.
Hahahahaa….I never envisaged you would have anything intelligent to contribute to the discourse….so I’ll lying if I act surprised….LMAOoo. In your mind now you have made loads of sense…LMAOoo
Maybe you too should google “Joseph Minala Lazio” and “South Sudan u20 goalkeeper” let’s see if your own IQ too is too low to tell from physical appearance whether the persons you see in the pictures are teenagers or not…..LMAOOo.
Let him play for whoever. Dominic Iorfa discouraged his son from playing for Nigeria because of bad belle. Where is the Iorfa Jnr now?
@Rafael, frankly I personally have no qualms over anyone choosing who to play for. We should defer to each individual’s unique life circumstances which dictates their choices thereto. My BEST WISHES to each person regardless of their choice!
You speak with wisdom @9jarealist . Let the boy play for Palestine. We have good keepers.
Rafael said it all.
Nobody cares. His father probably would have poisoned his mind about playing for Nigeria. We don’t need another nepotism for the National team.
@9jaRealist, I already provided a suggestion how the NFF can invest in him by saying they should invite him for age grade competitions instead of waiting for him to break into the big leagues before inviting him to the SE proper.
Many of you in this forum don’t properly read through before opposing another person’s Comment.
@Bomboy, the NFF should invite anyone (and everyone) DESERVING of invitation to the youth (or age grade) teams – regardless of their location or parentage. In fact, the NFF has previously invited several foreign-based young players for the age-grade teams (and taken some of them to age-grade competitions and WCs) so that’s not really an issue.
@9jaRealist, I don’t have time for argument. I know you understand what I am saying, but you just want to drag issues sideways.
If you don’t like what I said, read and ignore (like I have always ignored yours until you came into my thread).
Thank you!
@Bomboy, no need to get panties in a twist…smh
When you put your opinions/views on a PUBLIC DISCUSSION platform, the PUBLIC you address has the unfettered right to DISCUSS same. This is not an Echo Chamber, so if you don’t like the fact that others may have different (they weren’t even ‘opposing’) views, then best counseled to keep your thoughts to yourself instead throwing a childish tantrum!
Meanwhile, I will comment on whatever I feel like (and whenever I feel like).
Na you sabi.
You ran away from. Dr. Drey who was giving it back to you left right and center and came to me to pick a fight.
I beg waka go front.
I’ll “waka” anywhere I please…LOL!
Something you must have considerably difficulty doing with your head stuck so far up our resident doc’s behind that you can probably administer an oral colonoscopy to him! LMAO!
@Bomboy,9jaRealist wasn’t picking a fight.
This guy looks promising. Nigeria will be stacked with more credible goalkeeping options in seasons to come.
@9jaRealist, you are a big fool. I read your last comment and came to the conclusion you have no self respect.
It is your head that is stuck in your mother’s inc*stuous cu*nt. What you see in the mirror every morning is a product of that affair she had with her brother 16 years ago!
Hehehehe Bomboy, please stay calm brother and dont let that frustrated confusionist get under your skin.
He stopped making sense long ago and doesnt even know it….LMAOoo.
But one thing he sure knows is that he’s lost the plot, hence his desperation to be ‘politically correct’.
My bro Dr, how you de. l throw salute from my southwest Florida home. l love it here.
l always enjoy your high, strong intellectual presentations any day and anytime.
God is on your side man.
