Emre Can was only five Bundesliga games into his Borussia Dortmund career as a loanee from Juventus before the coronavirus pandemic saw play postponed, but the Germany international has made an instant impression at the Signal Iduna Park.
After scoring on his debut for Dortmund, and scoring in their 4-3 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen, Emre Can believes he has set a fine tone for great loan stint with Bundesliga side.
The 26 year old defensive midfielder who managed only eight appearances for Juventus in the Serie A this season before the switch, exudes firm confidence as he fields questions about his new ambition in this short video interview.
How where your first weeks in Dortmund?
Emre Can: They were positive for me personally. I feel at home in Dortmund after a tough six months. I am enjoying being an important part of a team again and it’s a nice feeling. The boys have really taken me in, and it’s been a positive few months.”
What can Borussia Dortmund expect from you on the
pitch?
They want me to bring some mentality. They want me to get involved and set the tone. I think these are some of my
strengths, but I have come here to Dortmund and I think I have shown people that I can also play football. I try to help the team and I think I was able to do this in the first few games.

How was the feeling scoring that beautiful goal in your first match for BVB?
It was an indescribable feeling to score after a few minutes on my debut, even though we went on to lose the game. It will definitely stay with me and it wasn’t a bad goal either.
