In the good old days, the Flying Eagles will be the conveyor belt for future Super Eagles stars.
Where are Jude Sunday, Kehinde Ibrahim, Umeh Emmanuel, Salim Lawal and Ibrahim Muhammad that we paraded as strikers from the last U-20 World Cup?
With the Super Eagles midfield needing fresh, faster and more nimble legs, where are John Joshua, Samson Lawal, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Victor Eletu, Tochukwu Nnadi, and Daniel Daga that Ladan Bosso paraded in our midfield?
With the Super Eagles centre hemorrhaging, where are Njoku, Agbalaka, and Ogwuchie?
Nwabili is struggling and Okoye has to sort out his mental health issues with the Super Eagles. Where are Nathaniel Nwosu, John Utoblo and Chijoke Aniagboso?
Not a single one of Bosso’s 2023 Flying Eagles has graduated to the Super Eagles.
That is truly awful.
It begs the question: why should I be interested in following the Flying Eagles in this year’s U-20 Afcon if all the players will only end up on the cutting room floor of the Super Eagles?
You boldy say Nwabali is struggling.. How? Please explain, gone are the days that anyone can just say anything without proof – please show us how Nwabali is struggling pls.
Thanks
Well deo, a lot of the players you mentioned are right there in Europe.
1. Victor Eletu =AC Milan under 20
2. Umeh emmanuel= FC Zurich
3. Jude Sunday= FC Trecin
4. Samson Lawal= Fc livingston
5. Tochukwu Nnadi= FC zulte waregem
Funny Enough they do start week in week out. We are just fixated on the ones that in Top 5 leagues, some who are even bench warmers are being called up
Deo you are on point.. And when you said in the good old days, the nostalgic feeling came on me…mehn those days the transition program was well followed to the latter not now that instead of finding an ex flying eagles member moving to the super eagles, you find them out of football totally…I know of one ex flying eagles member doing nothing now all he does is just parabulating around the streets from one betting house to another to drinking joints…..
I mean in the good old days you find almost all of them that were together during their flying eagles era in the super eagles but nowadays everything don spoil my brother…
Honestly, I was expecting the trio Daniel Daga, Victor Eletu and Tochukwu Nnadi to have been inculcated into the current SE setup
These lads have to be successful in a top 5 European leagues to be considered for the super eagles!
None of them have made the step up,we don’t even know where they play their football just to let you know it can’t be a decent European club..
These days also, appointment of coaches are political and call ups are based on the region of the coaches as well religion that’s why you don’t get the best talents and our super eagles have to suffer for this..
Even the female teams, for instance the under17s have at every point in time 7 out of 11 players from the coaches region,if that happened once or twice you may assume the better talents could genuinely come from that region but if it carries on then there’s red flag! The same applies in most of our cadets teams not singling out just the female under 17s.
Until we begin to practice merit in everything we do,success will continue to elude us and our senior teams will continue to lose weight and value..
Why is Nigeria not stepping forward to hosting it?
