Super Eagles interim head coach Austine Eguavoen claimed his side will go all out for a win in their second round clash against Tunisia at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, reports Completesports.com.
Eguavoen’s charges will lock horns with the Carthage Eagles on Sunday (today) at the Roumde Adija Stadium, Garoua.
It will be the sixth meeting between both countries at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles have enjoyed a perfect start to the competition winning all their group games.
Eguavoen has called on his players to approach the game with same mentality and determination.

“We topped our group with maximum points, but this is a totally different story, and the players and technical staff know this well,”the former defender told the media.
“We are not done with what we had in the group. We will work together for the coming steps. We plan to go as far as possible. Being named best coach of the group stage was because of the players. They make coaches win.
“Tunisia deserved to qualify, and we respect each other. We both have the same target which is to win and qualify. We will continue to work in the same way.”

Few hours to go we are staying glued to our TVs to see your charges play. Good luck.
8pm broa
Is the match 2pm or 8pm?
It’s 8pm.
8pm
Good talk@Coachie, we are solidly behind u. Tunisia will no doubt give their best but it won’t be more that what we have seen of them so far. Their best is not good enough to match the current SE style and winning mentality. So it’s 9ja 4 vs Tun 1. Soar SuperEagles.
8pm
Nigerian time
Sidon dey look geng, I know you all are secretely rooting for Tunisia so you have a reason to brag about outdated Rohr.
But GOD will disappoint you and your sidon dey look geng tonight and as always
@Chinenye, AMEN like thunder X10.
@MONKEY POST, so you dey watch SE matches for this AFCON? Who you dey root for today? Be honest 🙂
U just can’t wait for the eagles to loose but it won’t happen
Eguaveon should just make SE play the same way they have been playing in this Afcon and we will be just fine…….High press,smooth and ground passing,wing play, overlapping fullbacks,tight defence……..But if Eguaveon can add any other positive tactics to what we have seen SE play then Tunisia will be totally blown apart today……..I don’t know why but I just have this great feeling about this SE team in this Afcon.
@chinenye nd you think any patriotic Nigerian would wish his team, the super eagles, to fail for any reason……. you guys were wishing the super eagles bad luck so as to prove that GERNOT ROHR was not competent…… you had your way!…… we are different species as no normal human being would for any reason pray for his source of Joy to fail…..i am one of those who wanted GERNOT ROHR to remain as our because he brought smiles to us after several failures so much that we couldn’t qualify for two consecutive AFCONS. But the man left with his head held high…… not failing in any of the targets set for him by those who employed him nd wishing the super eagles bad luck after his exit serves no purpose….. we are not devil’s reincates.The current gaffer, Austin eguavoen wouldn’t be there for ever even after hopefully winning the ongoing AFCON nd later qualify nd win the world cup……. we are matured people, we love GERNOT ROHR nd wish him well in his future endeavors but we are not suddenly evil possessed as to begin to wish our country ill luck….. we are like those who reason through their anus….. we want to win regardless of who is there as gaffer….. our lives don’t depend on who manage the team, whether white,red or black….. we are citizens of the same world
I was thinking like you before they started displaying openly their desire for SE to fail…… Monkey post is an example…….They even gave themselves a name “sidon dey look”……..Then I was convinced that they where wishing SE bad luck inorder to drive home their point……. When Rhor was incharge we never withness anything of such my brother at least not on this forum…….. Reading some of their comments here makes me sick in the stomach.
No, Marvelous. Quite the opposite. Rohr critics on this forum were clear on their subject of criticism and their reasons – laborious wins, playing players out of positions, playing down the team’s abilities, playing safe and leaving out new kids on the block and continuously outdated and predictable tactics.
Nobody wished Rohr to fail so they can gloat. The loyalty was with SE, not the German. But MONKEY POST in particular is lurking in the corner, rubbing his hand in dark anticipation and salivating for a slip up so he can gloat about his ‘GENERAL ROHR’.
Rohr was great at the start but the ovation was over a ling time ago when his tactical juice ran out. He should have left. Loyalty should be to SE, not Rohr, not Eguavoen, not anyone. That was the difference.
What was the demand? Say it if you ever have shame. Can eguavoen control this players if NFF hold them up to a year match bonus? Can eguavoen survive with eagles matches been move from one millet field to another rice plantation field? Tell me, the same cape defeated Cameroon and draw them in nations cup qualifiers, same Cameroon they draw, even almost defeated. Might ivory coast and Algeria were not able to score against Sierra Leon. Did rohr gave excuse for players he introduce for not meeting up, they all hit the ground run. Aribo against Ukraine and Brazil, chukwueze, against Cameroon and south Africa, iwobi against Zambia, ebuchi against Argentine, name them. Them they were tested with fire, can we say that now. Ordinary Sudan and Guinea nwakali, sadiq, Ndah needs time to learn how to play with the team. As if aribo learnt to play with the team before he played his heart out against Ukraine and Brazil, or ebuchi stayed long before he marked de maria out. Continue deceiving yourself
We are NOT like those who reason from their anus i meant
@Lanre
I understand where you stand, but please speak for yourself.
You don’t want to attach yourself with that Monkey Post, Dr. Drey and their likes, those guys are just waiting for Super Eagles to be dumped out of this AFCON…we have not been seeing much of Drey on this forum lately, it’s not a coincidence, Na Sidon look dem dey. I wish them whatever they wish Eguavoen’s Super Eagles.
And where were you when chime, jimmy and others were praying for eagles to lose so as rohr can be sacked. Where were you when odegbami claimed that they put the contract to frustrate rohr. Where were you when people like omo9ja, chime, jimmy and others will never Congratulate the eagles for winning matches but will roll out their drums if they draw or lose. If you must come to equity come with clean hand
@Mirah God bless, but I can assure you that none of us who rooted for GERNOT ROHR to remain as our coach would sincerely wish our darling super eagles to fail because we are people who love our country so much, we believe so much in that adage “a bird in hand is better than millions in sky”…… we saw what GERNOT ROHR was doing nd the slow but steady progress he was making with the team he met in shambles, that no coach out there wanted to handle but he ACCEPTED to take up immediately nd that project is bearing fruits even after his exit. But he is gone nd still wishing us well from his base please what justification have we who supported him to begin to wish the same team ill luck…..then it would tantamount to not wishing GERNOT ROHR success because this team is his handwork, his pet nd his project. Do you know that by God’s grace if the team wins 2021 AFCON the PROFILE of the man would indirectly be enhanced…..he has a claim in their subsequent successes in the eye of other shrewd employers….. so this is win win thing for the German
Now every player will want to come and play for Nigeria because they’ll be given freedom to show want they Can do. I hope to see Onyekuru today it’s being a while I use to criticize him.
How many did he convinced in his first team as a coach, what of siasia.
What are you talking about? Who doesn’t wanna join a fantasy team? You wonder why Algeria before now had lots of french players and Morroco as well. Common don’t be Contentious.
