Who is Eguavoen?
The Technical Director of NFF who recently perused over coach Jose Peseiro papers.
More about T.A. Eguavoen. The 56-year-old immediately moved to the dug-out after his playing career ended in Malta. He started with his coaching career with Sliema Wanderers and he has steered the affairs of several clubs in Nigeria.
After a year in Sliema, Eguavoen took up the coaching job at Bendel Insurance briefly before he was appointed Nigeria U20.
His stint with the youth team between 2002 and 2003, heralded his promotion to the Super Eagles head coach position in 2005 where he worked alongside former teammates Samson Siasia, Ike Shorunmu and Daniel Amokachi. In 2006 he won an Ad on bronze medal.
The first stint ended in 2007 and he moved to South Africa a year later to join Black Leopards for a short period.
The former Super Eagles defender became Enyimba manager for the 2008-09 season before he was called by the NFF to succeed Lars Lagerback in June 2010.
A few months later, he was appointed as the Nigeria U23 coach but they failed to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games which forced him to resign in December 2011.
He later had several stints with Nigerian league clubs between 2013 and 2017, which include Sharks FC, C.O.D United, Bendel Insurance, Gombe United and Sunshine Stars. Eguacoen has more experience but let’s see if experience and merit will play a significant role in the process.
The fans of Eguadiola – the poor African imitation of Guardiola, know how to lie. How many days was Eguadiola the coach of Sliema Wanderers? Eguadiola did not manage a single match for Sliema Wanderers.
How long was he at Bendel Insurers? One month and again he didn’t manage any matches for Bendel Insurers.
How many days was he manager of Black Leopards of South Africa? 2 weeks, and he managed only one match.
How long was he coach of Sharks? 2 months and he didn’t manage a single match.
How long was Eguadiola the manager at APS Zakynthos? 4 months and he didn’t manage a single professional match.
His whole experience is as a civil servant, working for NFF and managing national sides. All his experience is online https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/augustine-eguavoen/profil/trainer/3138
Eguavoen is always craving for relevance….
Congratulations Mancity. However, the race to the NFF presidency is now between Peterside Idaho, the Supersport football pundits and Austin’s Eguavoen, Technical Director football federation. Good thing they are both ex-players. Fans are cheering!
Stop deceiving yourself bro
Mike is on point Dr Banks. Few of you are mostly concerned with Francis Uzoho error and Moses Simon’s mistake in Kumassi. It doesn’t work like that and besides, remember he met and took the team from 36th position to 30th. Some of the things they will look at.
That’s is right. Within a very short stint, he moved 6 steps in FiFA ranking. A statement of fact.

If they want to give it to Peterside Idah but let us know him first as in the qualities he posseses, merit and administrative experience.
Man City is my team any day. My broda Dr Safe, Eguavoen has better standing than all of them but you know corrupt minds na.

I think it was with Enyimba he won the federation cup. The good thing going for him is that he has both local and international experience. And that is why it will be difficult to elect another poorly rated former Super Eagles player. I think have already agreed to have a former player like Eto fil of Cameroon.
In 2009 Eguavoen won the Nigerian domestic cup competition the Federations cup (not to be confused with the confederations cup) with Enyimba after taking over from Amokachi for 18 months or one season, before the arrival of Okey Emordi.
This is the only trophy that Eguavoen has won in 22 years as a coach.
You succeeded in quarrelling with yourself. Do yourself a favor by reading my initial post over again.
Congrats Man city and the players.
Kudos! This only came, however, on the back of one of the most memorable comebacks in the recent history of the English top-flight.
