Ecuador goalkeeper and captain, Joan Lopez, says his team is battle ready for Tuesday’s 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup Group B clash against the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria at the Goiania Olimpico Stadium, Goiania Brazil, Completesports.com.
The South Americans got their campaign to flying start with a hard fought 2-1 win against Australia on Saturday.
Los Negriazules will face a stiffer test against the Golden Eaglets who edged out Hungary 4-2 in their opening game also on Saturday.
Lopez however believes that his side will be up to the challenge against one of the tournament’s favourites.
“We have all been working together within the national team for a year now in this cycle,” Lopez told FIFA.com.
“We all have an excellent understanding of each other and are prepared for whatever comes our way.”
The Nigeria – Ecuador clash wil kick off at 9pm Nigerian time on Tuesday.
