Golden Eaglets winger, Ibraheem Jabaar, has exclusively spoken to Completesports.com from the team’s camp in Brazil, assuring that they are in top spirit and ready to to beat Ecuador in tonight’s matchday-two Group B game at the ongoing 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Ecuador are second in Group B behind Nigeria on goal difference following a 2-1 win against Australia on Sunday.
Ahead of tonight’s clash at Estadio Olimpico, Goiania, Jabaar, who came on for Wisdom Ubani on 75 minutes to reinvigorate the Golden Eaglets, leading to a 4-2 comeback win in the opening match on Saturday, says the team is ready to fight for another victory.
“We are not scared of Ecuador. We know they also won their opening game. I know the team we (Eaglets) have. We are not scared at all,” Jabaar told Completesports.com after the team’s training session on Monday.
“We are very ready. With what I saw in today’s (Monday) training: the players’ agility, high spirit and goal scoring, I know we are going to do well against Ecuador.”
Victory for Nigeria tonight will confirm a Round of 16 spot for the Manu Garba’s team with a game to spare.

Hmm! Most of these boys are in their twenties. My second born just clocked 19 yesterday and I know how he looks like. Is something wrong with this FIFA MRI Scan?
I wish you good luck in today’s match anyway.
No one cares about how old your son is. If you have nothing positive to say hear, just keep quiet. After calling them cheats, FIFA came up with solution, so how are they cheats. Abeg carry kerosene clean ur spectacles. Go and verify if your son is even yours.
There we go again!
Nothing will EVER be truthful in our eyes as Nigerians. I said it here a few days ago that the issue age cheat will come up again and lo and behold I was right.
Looking at the videos and photos of players participating in this tournament I can tell you that Nigeria U17 is among the youngest. Go and look at the brazilians, Argentina’s teams, they look much older and bigger. Some of them already have mustaches. Go and look at Valmir Berisha’s photos from Qatar 2013, you will realize he looked much older than our guys. His beards and mustache were distinct even as an U17. If he were a Nigerian I am sure all of you critics would have come out to claim he was overage.
Let us learn to trust and cherish our own stuff for once. I have seen photos of Amoo Akinwunmi online and can confirm he is a young man. His photos are still available on his high school Facebook page. He went to Brightville School, Ibadan.
The Number 5 for brazil has beards fit for a 30 years old man. Let him go watch brazils game. Even the hungarians that were taller and heavier,he didn’t comment on them
Malnutrition could be a major reason why a 19 year old boy would look pale and frail.unlike his well fed mates.this forum does not in any shade look like a depot for family problems.
The margin for error in the MRI bone scan is 6 months .F Y I.up Naija.
Yes!Nigeria on d march again! Under-17 team has started roaring.Seems world cup at this level is a Nigerian. Our joy in this however evaporates at higher levels where those we mercilessly beat @ this level beat us silly. Our shame at the senior w world cup is rather embarrassing, due largely to our dumping of the victorious eaglets for unprofitable foreign-based ones often hurriedly gathered together few days before competition, only to put us to shame. I think we should stop participating @ under-17 level if we can’t groom groom our victorious set at home for competition at higher levels.
What fifa uses to determine their age is the fusion of the distal radioulnar bone..that’s what the MRI scan checks for.this two separate forearm bone can fuse at anytime from 16yrs,but the latest it can occurs is at 22yrs..so some individual may have a late fusion..the accuracy is not 100%
