Samu on the beat…again.
I always knew that, once he & Osimhen are injury-free; they can torment ANY and EVERY opposition with excess dazzling displays….AFCON can’t wait for these guys!
Nothing spectacular about the goal, Gerard Moreno lay the ball for him for a somehow tap in, chucks is back from injury long time enough for him to regain his starting spot in this Villarreal that are even struggling.
Of course I saw the goal too already, and I know it’s nothing particularly spectacular, just a counter-attacking move… All I’m saying is, the boy is scoring again, and that’s what matters to his confidence bro
Chukwueze is back to his best, even playing as a substitute he still performs. He should leave Villarreal to a club that will grant him more game time.
Akpoguma looks like an upgrade to Troost Ekong, maybe under a new coach he will get to play in his natural central defence position for the Super Eagles.
Calvin Bassey still holding his own while playing as a centre defender. He still needs to play more games in that position to really master the role. He is still learning but with time he may become a very good left footed central defender as well as a left full back.
This Livingstone centre defender, AYO OBILEYE, yes might not be playing in top leagues but looks good n rugged to try out after AFCON. Especially seeing we honestly struggling for options in that department.
Interesting suggestion, Glory.
The livingston guy is another option
Chuzzy Dazzling dazzer of Villarreal. Well played my brother. Even with few minutes you still make good impact. Good on you. Keep going from strength to strength and you will become better than Arjen Robben.
Ayo Obileye, English center back playing for Livingston in the Scottish Premier League.
Looks like a decent defender.
NOT SURE HE’S BETTER THAN THE LADS WE CURRENTLY HAVE IN THE SE, QUALITY WISE.
But ONE THING he brings to the table, which we could really benefit from, is his appetite for goals. Scores quite a bit for a center back.
At a height of 6’4″, he is a good target for corner kicks and set pieces.
He has nodded in many goals from corner kicks. Got another one today against Ross County.
If we ever have a corner kick or a free kick, he’s a lad that can go up and be a massive threat to our opponents. He knows how to use his height advantage.
Also good at taking freekicks and penalties.

@ Pompeii, to be honest, I have been searching for good centre backs that can give Ekong, BALOGUN, Awaziem etc some good competition, I must confess it’s been really difficult to find capable ones in terms of international exposure.
Yes, there are quite a few with seemingly better defending qualities but then, these ones look suspect to sustain quality performances over n over again on international level. We must understand that performance must never be a one match thing but rather on atleast 7 out 10 to be considered.
Aderabioyo of Fulham could have been our best bet but he says he wants to wait for England. Also Tomori who could have been some decent options is gone with England. There is this guy at Salzburg; Bryan Okoh, with such top top centre defence qualities but if ever available, will sure require some good amount of international games to entire into his quality stride as a really decent center back, same with Calvin Bassey, and few other local lads I have been observing. These local lads, very rugged n very very raw but with great uncertainty about their age n next move.
From what I’ve seen he’s a defender taking up lots of responsibilities. He will be useful to the team once primary purpose which is the defensive side of his game has been confirmed. Looking forward to more of him. For now the sure defender remains Izuchukwu but he will not be considered by the new gaffers too.
